Which of you has a corner in his garden for the birds? And what do you do to lure the birds to your garden?
We have redesigned our garden this summer, and I must say that because of the many shrubs and trees that we have planted, and feeding it with great nourishment, we currently have a lot of birds in our garden!
This afternoon we are going to hang another bird feeder, there is so much hanging, my husband sometimes tell me that i am crazy :nono:.
Every morning, if it is not raining, I sit outside under a canopy watching the birds. Yes, even when it is cold, I am sitting there with a thick coat, hat and scarf, so wonderful to relax in the morning in your own garden.
I'll post some photos later!

I know that you see my pics on FB so you are aware that I am out in our garden almost daily to take photos of our local birds. People always say we must have a beautiful garden but, in fact, we don't. It is overgrown, in some places there is rotting wood, some rocks and wooden planks in the corner where the bear pushed thru the old part of the fence and we have uneven patio stones along the back of the house where they have shifted over time and are no longer nicely lined up....but.....this all makes for interesting color, texture, grunge for photos so I refuse to let hubs fix any of it. He thinks I am crazy LOL.

We have bird feeders on the back porch but I don't often photograph the birds there, we just sit in the kitchen and watch them thru the windows. I go out into the garden to photograph the birds and squirrels, taking a small stool to sit on and quietly wait and watch and I scatter peanuts/seeds in the areas I want to photograph. We have a 2 tiered raised garden along the back of our yard so I can move around and get shots from many different angles. Its so much fun.

BTW....they know I feed them so they start squawking at our kitchen door before it even gets light out, wanting to be fed each morning. A few of the squirrels come right up to the kitchen window and peer inside, looking for me.

I read everywhere that the nicest tight gardens do not attract birds, I often have discussions with my husband here, he wants to prune and clean up everything, but he doesn't like me LOL.
How handy if you can photograph behind the window! And yes, they soon know if you top them up, I think your photos are great!

I don't pay as much attention to birds around my area as I should. I tend to enjoy the furry critters more than the feathers. I am always amazed by your photos, Rae and Vera. Keep them coming!

we have no special plants or room for birds, but see a lot of city birds.
small ones like sparrows, blackbirds and finches,
but also bigger ones like Jay, Magpie and Jackdaw.
and last summer a Heron landed on my fence, trying to get into our neighbours pond.
