Are you ready?

On a scale of 1-10, how ready are you for the holidays?
Me-- I think I am a solid 7. if I could learn how to shift my priorities and standards down a notch, I could consider myself at an 8, maybe even an 8.5.

I still have a few presents to wrap and then have someone on the house put all of the junk back into the attic. The baking is done. There is one more batch of cookies that I would *like* to make but probably should push that out of my head. The house is mostly clean. (as long as no one looks into my office area or my bedroom on Wednesday, I am good to go, but shhhh.... )

In my family Christmas is a two-day holiday with Christmas Eve being as important, if not more important than Christmas Day. Even with the less time, I think I am going to make it and no one will be the wiser as along as they don't peek under my bed.LOL

I'm going to give myself an 8. I'm waiting for a couple of last-minute deliveries from Amazon, I have a few gift cards and groceries to buy for Christmas Eve. I'm just doing my Christmas cards today, lol! Most of my cards will arrive at their destinations around New Years, but I just can't not do them at all.

Hmmm...maybe a 7? I have lots to do still but am aware of all I need to do so there shouldn't be any surprises in my schedule. I know I have to wrap everything but I did get everything together in one area so don't have to go hunting for anything (I did that this morning as there were two gifts I couldn't remember where I put them LOL). We'll bake today and tonight I'll bake a banana loaf after dinner. Tomorrow I'll bake brownies, after work. D & I will wrap tomorrow night. Tues will be a day of whatever is leftover to do. D will be on call so may be out working so I'll have the house mostly to myself to putter and get last minute things done. Xmas Eve we'll be at B's for the evening, eating snacks and appies. Jen and B will be here with us Xmas Day so we'll have a nice relaxing time together and a big turkey dinner before we drive B home that night.

I'm pretty relaxed about everything so that's why I give myself a 7 even tho I have lots to do :)

My score ? 0

I don't have any presents yet, I don't have an outfit yet ... I definitely don't like the holidays.
We can eat Christmas Eve at Jolien, Christmas Day is with the in-laws.
And we always give presents on New Year's Day, so I still have a week left for the presents.
And my outfit, well I find something in my closet;)

I'm ready! We just celebrated at my mom's house yesterday. Christmas Eve and Day will be for the four of us at home. We will see the in-laws after the new year.

It seems like most of you are on the ball. I am putting myself up to an 8 today. :whoo:

Vera- you should be able to get some great deals on gifts when you shop after Christmas!

I've just about given up at this point. I've told everyone that I'm making gifts for that they will get them sometime between now and next Christmas lol

Well, I'll give me a teetering 9. haha I have everything done and most of the gift baking is done and delivered. The casa is clean. The aroma of Christmas is in the air and its all for me. :) I am alone this Christmas so its all for my benefit. (Sounds selfish, huh?) Today, I make deliveries to some shut-ins (I got a list of elderlies & widows/widowers from my church who will be alone.) It's always a little awkward going to people's homes who you don't know but also rewarding to see their smiles.

I will go to Florida after the first of the year. I don't like missing my little Edison's first Christmas but they have plans so I will bide my time. haha

Merry Christmas to you all!!!

That is one of the most *unselfish* ways to spend your Christmas. What a wonderful person you are!

I hope that Edison has a gurgley-smile type Christmas (you know what I mean!-- Babies ) and you will get to hold him soon

Every year I say that I start buying presents on time, and every year again I am stressed in the last days because I do not find the "right" gift. Then why don't I ever learn it?
Okay, I did find them, but I went shopping for 3 days, not normal!

We don't give gifts with Xmas but always on New years day, it's a tradition in our family.

Vera, that is what I do too. I stress that I didn't get the right gifts or that I didn't get them enough. And every year, it turns out the same- everyone loves it all. I hope that you get there too. xo
