Are there items you seldom use in a kit?

Just depends on your software program I think Diane, in CC Photoshop all you need to do is just drag the .abr file from your Explorer and drop it in the Brushes panel, the same for pattern, shapes, styles etc. It's super easy to do it these days. Not sure with Elements whether you can just drag and drop or else have to go through the Preset Manager, maybe someone with the later versions of Elements can chime in?
Exactly! I use ACDSee as a Photo manager/kit "tagger." It also shows you the individual brush tips in the abr files. All I have to do is have the Brush Tool active and drag the file from ACDSee (or File Explorer) onto the PS workspace.
Sometimes I have to peer at my screen (old-lady eyes LOL) to see the brush, but I have it set to view Large Thumbnail and it's not that hard to see.
I don't use Elements so I have no idea how it works, maybe you can try the same way?

I also like abr brush files. So I guess I'm on the weird side with you. I do wish you could get bigger previews in Photoshop. I would probably love them even more if I had larger previews.

Oh my word y'all. How am I just discovering the little slider at the bottom of the brushes window in PS CC that makes the previews larger? I am so happy. I will be using ABR files even more.

BTW, I install my ABR files by just double clicking on them in Windows Explorer.
