Sara already asked one excellent Question for those across the pond... but I have one too.

Gary and I have been watching the new Dr Who series on Netflix. We are up to season 5 and just saw the next Doctor. He is our third dr, but I guess he is the 11th?

This is more of a philosophical question, but how long does it take to get used to a new Dr??
I loved the first doctor, Christopher Eccleston and his FAN-tastic! It took me a really long time to get used to David Tenent. Now he is gone and we have another new doctor and all I can think is that he is all wrong, too young, not goofy enough, so on and so on.

Do you long-time Dr Who fans go through this every time??

Oh Sara, you *must*! If you have Netflix you can stream them. So much fun. Goofy, kooky, cornball sci-fi fun!

I am starting to read Sookie Stackhouse, which will probably turn in to watching True Blood. Maybe after that. :-) LOL

meh. Don't bother with True Blood. First Season was good, after that- it got stupider and stupider. And it annoyed me that the show was nothing like the books. (just my two cents LOL)

I loved the Sookie Stackhouse movies and i LOVE True Blood....yes they are nothing like the books but i actually kinda like that cause it keeps me from comparing it to the books LOL for me its the same but its different...weird? LOL anyways....Firefly....fricken AWESOME!!!! me and my dh were so upset when it ended....but were glad when they did the movie Serenity...but still they could have gone so far with Firefly....it was a really awesome show!!!!!

Back to the Doctor.....well I'm still hung up on the 4th doctor, Tom Baker (1974 to 1981) so that gives you an idea of how old I am! I always find I instinctively don't like the new doctor because he's not the old one, but then get used to him. In fact, I would go so far as to say I much prefer Matt Smith (11th and current) over David Tennant (10th and full of himself). And as for the absolutely hideous Donna - goodbye and good riddance - I come from the same very small area of London that she's supposed to be from and believe me NOBODY sounds like her. I'm quite keen on Amelia Pond though - but sadly she's leaving. Ooops, did I give something away?!

And one of the upsides to no longer playing the Doctor is that the actor gets to use his own voice again. David Tennant has a very sexy, soft Scottish accent which sounds oh, SOOOOOO much nicer than the guttural, estuarine English accent he used in Dr Who.

I am so glad to hear that Selena. I feel so disloyal to the previous drs! hahaha.
And Donna- yikes! She was scary. The last couple of episodes I saw with her I was like "Please stop screaming!!!"

DT has a Scottish accent? Mmmm mmmmmm!!!! LOL

Oh and yes, that is how I feel with the Jersey Shore Cast. Everyone in NJ hates them, and no one really looks/acts/sounds like them either. Yuck.
