It’s Saturday, and time for another challenge from Anna Aspnes. Each Saturday the AnnaTeam selects one creative page from the Anna gallery as the weekly ‘AnnaLift.’ Check out the inspiration page and decide what speaks to you. Is it the design, the color, the wordART, or maybe the photo? Choose ONE idea from the page to lift or choose it ALL and lift it completely. There is no right or wrong way to ArtPlay. Be inspired and create your ‘AnnaLift’ and then upload your page to the Anna gallery, plus include it here in this forum thread. Upload your page by Friday 4.29.16 by NOON EST with the title, ‘AnnaLift ’ and one lucky participant will be randomly selected to win a $5.00 GiftKard to Anna’s shop. The winner will be posted each Friday here in the forum.

This week we are lifting "Old New York..." by "Marleen". I adore the simplicity of this creation by Marleen - Old New York! My eyes scan the various portions of the photo, looking at the buildings, the people walking in the street, the old vehicles. I love how the sepia tone of the photo really adds to the feeling of the page, as does Marleens choice of distressed frame, urban stitchez, a small bit of tape, and then backed by the portions of text. All this, framed within a windowbox of sorts, really makes me feel like I am looking through a window at such an important time in history. I adore how our scrapping helps us remember these times in history, and it is also a reminder of how important each of our pages are. Thank you Marleen for this reminder.

I am so anxious to see what everyone creates, as you never disappoint with the lifts you create, so it is now up to you to choose just what you want to lift from this page. You may choose to lift a single element of the layout, or lift it all - whatever grabs you and takes hold of you when you look at this layout. Have some fun with it - I am sure the results will be awesome – remember anything goes, as long as you are having fun!!!

This week’s AnnaLift will inspire all of us in some way. Maybe you will choose to:

-include some stitching
-add some text as a design element
-include a simple title
-create a deep framed border
-use minimal color

Oh boy. Marleen's elegant work seems simple to do. It is not! LOL I spent hours one morning last week trying to scraplift her. It was a wonderful experience, but it was NOT simple! This will stretch us. Thank you for the challenge.

It is a long time since I played and tried to make a page. Just felt like it SOOOO much this afternoon! Getting rusty though, as it didn't work out the way I wanted to. I'm not sure this page will 'fit' the challenge, but Hieronique told me to send it in as the photo (buildings) is the inspiration. So here we go!

I had Marleen's photo favorite even before it was selected for the lift...I loved the framing and stitching and have attempted to recreate this on my 2016 journal cover.

I was also inspired by helenedubois' lift in which she used the old-fashioned 'Photographs' word art, and I found I had it in my stash (from JoAnn Brisbois Vintage Album Collection: Necessities).

I's amazing how much time one can spend on a simple page, I've been working on this for 2 days, and I am no where close to completing the back cover, so I'm sharing the front for now :)

OH my! Busy weekend, busy life... Just got around to checking this out and am blown away.... LOVE Marleen's NY photo... will be hard to find something in my stash that even starts to have so much depth and things to look at in it...
