:) I know that's a loaded question!

I really want these actions. http://www.photoeffects.biz/psforumbw.html

The sale ends soon. $150 dollars for all those actions....Am I crazy???? Does this seems like too much for a simple little digital scrapbooker?

I just want other people's opinions. (or approval....) :D

Sara -

Okay you know I am the B&W crazy - I just love B&W!

With that said...the sample photos are gorgeous....but what I am leary about is you have no way of knowing how user friendly they are without trying them. Do they have a sample one you can try?

If they are super user friendly I say go for it....not just for digi scrap but for photography :)

First......You are NOT CRAZY!!!

I am the type of person with something like this...I see it I want it really bad....If I am hesitating (especially because of cost)...I sit back for a few days and think about it and try to map out in mind how much I will ACTUALLY use this....and if 3 or 4 days later, or a week and I am still wanting this so badly...even if I have found some reasons that I shouldn't...I usually will go for it....

But Like Kat said....and the REASON I wouldn't....if I can't try it out to see if I can use it....I won't buy it!! But now you may be a lot more techy than me...and could easily figure it out!!

Hope this helps some!!:p

BTW...they are totally awesome actions!!!

Sara, have you thought of Lightroom? There are many presets out there for free, you can create your own, etc. I don't remember the Adobe Lightroom cost for educators...but think it's close to this price if you use the Educator discount.

I love photo effects and I really love B&W. I don't know how I'd get along without my Lightroom!

There is a sample and it is really easy. I can adjust sliders if I want, or just hit continue and let it run. Here are a few layouts & pics I've done with one of his free samples. I think he changed the freebie at some point, at first it seemed to just be a black and white with some glow...now there is a rust, sage, and something else in the freebie.

Linda W - I have been wanting these for almost a year. I just found out about this sale though last week and it's really enticing me. =) I never would have spent the non-sale price for them unless I was a pro photographer.

Linda S - I haven't tried Lightroom. I've noticed a lot of cool presets for it though...including Annie's here at the O. I'll have to poke around with it sometime.

I want Lightroom soooo bad....almost worth going back to school for LOL, can't swing it without a discount.

If you have been on these for that long...and you have taken time to watch for them until they went on sale...and sounds like you have done all you homework on it....then I would get them!!!

this is how we came about getting the second laptop....we both wanted to have our own...and once we decided that it was going to happen...we just waited and watched until the right one and the right price came along (about a 7 or 8 month wait)....

Those photos you used the actions on look fabulous!!

Sara...so you have had a sample - which by the way love your layouts :) Then I say go for it :) You will obviously use them and they aren't just for scrapping but your photography as well :)

don't know if this is too late, but have you visited Totally Rad Actions? They have some really awesome action packages for around the same price. I recently purchased their second action bundle and am loving it. they will also send you a bunch of actions for free if you request a sample. I just used the sample ones for a long time, till I decided to buy the real deal. I also like the fact that when you apply their actions, you can go in and adjust individual layers within each action to get just the right look. does this make sense? I highly recommend them!

LOL! Sara! about telling hubby!!! as Linda S mentioned about lightroom........most of the photos from DIL have been through Lightroom, she has quite a few presets and apparently just doesn't use photoshop at all these days, she is into photography more so thatn digiscrapping.

I just LOVE actions but there isn't a lot out there for Elements until I found this site via DST. They had given me a discount voucher as part of the welcome to DST forum and went and checked it out.........unbelieveable!!! actions are for photoshop and elements and I have purchased a number of of them for elements. I am buying them seperately even though you can get them in a bundle. My favourite is one called ContraPop and I use it on all of my jpg versions of my LO's just before I resize them for the web. I find it really boosts the colour well. Anyway, here the link for these actions:

and crazy!!?? LOL! I am just so glad that all of my purchases are done on my lonesome, other people (including DH) would be horrified but I do justify to myself in that I don't smoke or drink or spend a lot on clothes and shoes etc and I don't gamble so what the heck! as long as I pay my mortgage each month I am happy! :)

Gorgeous photos Sara! I hope that hubby went along with us!

And anyone who has never tried Lightroom, 30 day free trial! After using it for 30 days, I really didn't care what it cost! But, like Ona, don't drink, smoke, gamble, spend much on clothes...etc. Ok, I do indulge in chocolate way more than I should.

Hi girls!!! Sorry I'm late. We had open house at school today and the filter blocks the O. I haven't decided yet. I think I'll do it, but I was also given grief about my scrapbooking spending when I want a digital camera...so.....I haven't committed yet! Now I also want to check out the ones the other ladies posted. =) I'll let you know this weekend before the deadline what I decide!!!!

My 2 cents ... I'd go with Lightroom instead. :) The amount of amazing presets you can get for it are just flippin' cool. And, you can get a ton of great free ones. I use Lightroom on all of my photos now.

Holey carp. Lightroom is expensive. =) Course, I got an educator set of PSE for Mac for super duper cheap....$28 a person...so maybe I can try and work that to get Lightroom a lot cheaper too.

I like this set because it has tutorials to go along with it...
I love tutorials.

I would buy it if you use actions alot. I am actually thinking of getting Lightroom and I'm going to check into the educator discount!

I have become a total Lightroom convert. It has made my photos look really amazing. 3 friends of mine have bought it after seeing what it does to my crappy photos. :D

Ok. I think I'm buying the actions. =) You knew I would didn't you? Although I'm sure Lightroom is super cool, the educator pricing is $99. That's the same as the cost of my original PSE....and the actions I'm looking at are only $50 more than that.

Sooooo....don't tell my hubby, but I think I'm getting them. I just got the payflex money from our daycare costs, so that's a little extra perk with it. =)

Sara...I think it is great!! I can't wait to see some layouts with actions....when you get them and get them started...link us up so we don't miss them! :):)

Yay Sara!!

So, everytime I see this post I say in my head...you bet you are!! It makes me laugh. Not that I think you are crazy...but like you said, it is a loaded question and I always have a witty reply everytime I see it. LOL!!

I can't wait to see what you do with your actions. I'm still so in awe of my camera I am not yet to a point of looking for actions yet...although I have been playing with some of them a little bit lately.
