Oscraps

Almost totally off topic

As I was using the healing brush to smooth out some of my DGD's skin, I thought I'd just throw it out to the O community. This poor little 12-year-old has the WORST acne I have ever seen. I guess her dad had it when he was young, and it has left him with a scarred face. Not so bad with a guy...cover it with beard, and just not judged as harshly by the world as a girl is. I know there are many products out there that claim to be The Solution, but they all sound like scams to me. Does anyone know of anything that really helps? I think my DD is hesitant to pursue anything because it all costs so much. But if there really is something that will work, I'll pay for it.

TIA

Hey Sharron, my DD had bad acne on her back when she was a teen and the only thing that worked on her was a prescription medicine that the dermatologist prescribed to her, it got worse before it got better but totally cleared up in a couple of months and never came back. I have txt her to find out the name, because I have a memory like a sieve and can't remember but will post the name of it here when I find out!

Ok she has replied to me it was Tetracycline , I have no idea how expensive it would be for you there. It was fully covered for us.

A friend of mine (and his brothers) had severe acne cured with Accutane. I saw it mentioned but I don't know the trustworthy sites in The US/ Can..

Thanks ladies. Now praying DD will be accepting of our financial help, and not mad because we're butting in (again).

Shar- My poor kids go their terrible skin from me and Gary. Gary was on Accutane for a while way back when. I am going to be 50 in a month and I still get acne along with my grey hair and wrinkles.
I have no other advice for you aside from what was already suggested. Just that it breaks my heart to see my kids feel self-conscious because of their skin.
As a scrapbooker, I use the Nik Collection filters- One of them has a nice skin smoothing filter that it very easy to use and is customizable.

It is the Color Efex Pro 4 Dynamic Skin Softener.

Thanks Chris. Wish there was a magic bullet. I’ll check out the brush. Actually, I used to have the NIK collection (Filters). I think I failed to load it when I moved from Windows to Mac. I recall that it was not as user-friendly as I'm comfortable with, so hope I can figure out how to load/use it. I do have another action by Linda Sattgast that works pretty well, but I do miss the NIK options, so I'll give it a shot. Thanks again.
