aA Designs is celebrating National Scrapbook Day on May 7 and we would love for you to join us in the celebration with a very special and ‘Inspiring’ AnnaChallenge.

YOU INSPIRE ME ... An Art Journal Page Challenge
Here’s to those who inspire you and don’t even know it! (unknown)



Simply put, an art page is a page in which you combine art and words to express yourself. That's it. It's not complex, and there really aren't any rules for art journaling. It's all about self-expression. ... You are an artist, and you can create an art journal page without drawing or sketching.

What styles influence your art? What artist has inspired you the most? Select an artist (famous or not so famous………..many of your favorites might be tucked right inside the Anna Gallery!:)) that has inpired your art work.
• include wordART (some of Anna’s or your own)
• include brush work, artstrokes, paint splatters, etc.
• include colors that may be seen in the inspirational artist’s works
• 80% of the page must be made with aA Designs Products

Be inspired and create your Art Journal page and then upload your page to the Anna gallery, plus include it here in this forum thread.

Upload your page by May 14, 2017 by NOON EST with the title, ‘You Inspire Me’ and a few lucky participants will be randomly selected to win some prizes.

We have 'Get an AnnaRelease of your choice' ticket (past or upcoming) and 3 X $5.00 GiftKard to Anna’s store up for grabs.

What a fabulous challenge!! BUT----how do you choose just one artist? I have so many that inspire me!!

Although many artists at Oscraps have influenced and inspired me over the years, it was Anna Aspnes who started it all for me, and to whom I continue to return for inspiration. She broke me out of my rectangular world, and led me through the magical door of ArtZyness! How can "Thank You" even begin to express my feelings?

Can I say that I LOVE; I mean really LOVE Georgia O'Keeffe's work???? She has done some landscapes but must of her work are HUGE flowers that take up the whole canvas. I had to take an art appreciation class in college and that is where I was introduced to her paintings.
This layout reflects her love for flowers. She really inspires me!!

Nancy, I also share a love of Georgia OKeefe paintings. I have several prints in my home and when we visited Sanfe Fe a couple of years ago, we made a point of going to her museum. Loved it. Even enjoy checking the museum's website now and again. Love your page!

This one goes out to Salamandre, a lady who has been active here at Oscraps for several years, but is now silent for a few years already. But oh she has made so many beautiful pages. I saw here work when I only just started digiscrapping, and it truly inspired me. It is even thanks to one of her layouts that I bought my fist kit from Anna Aspnes (the Artplay n°4 minikit, which I used in this layout as well), long before Anna had a shop at Oscraps. And even now, if I want to make a layout but don't know how to begin, I have a look at here gallery and off I go.

Beautiful tribute to Salamandre :

i have to say i followed the same way - i discovered the pages of salamandre as i began to scrap ... the credits of her pages brought me to aA and Oscraps !

Thank you for the reminder of Salamandre. Her photos were often very haunting. I think she is the one who first gave me permission to scrap photos of people who were not smiling! She captured EVERY mood, not just the posed smiles. I hope she is well. I wonder what all those beautiful children look like now and what they are doing.

So many people along the way have inspired me but above all, Anna whose work has taught me to reach out and push through those barriers I have created for myself. Also to the many Oscraps forum members whose work I so admire.....
