19 years!

Wow, in business for 19 years! Life was so different 19 years ago. My, how digital scrapbooking has changed in the past 19 years. I have been digital scrapbooking since 2007, so almost 19 years.
How has your digital creations changed in the past 19 years (or however long you have been digital scrapbooking)?

For me, it has changed based on my subject matter. When I first started, I had foster children and step children to scrapbook so it was a lot of fun kits. Now, no children except my nieces and nephews, and they are older now, so it is mostly more sophisticated looks.

I started to digital scrap in 2011 and it was a weird site where you subscribed and didn't own anything. Super fun easy way to start but my style was simple, outlined photos, fun solid papers and heart elements here and there. Very simplistic. Now, I have been using PSE for just over 2 years, which means I have an issue as I have scrap supplies like I've been scrapping years and years. My skills here in the last year have really improved and my style now is still simple and easy but I use more masks and blending. Its been fun.

I started around 2008 and found the O in 2009. Like you Laura, I started with scrapping about little ones, my grandkids. They have now all grown up of course and so my style has become a bit more sophisticated as you said. I found an old tutorial I wrote for challenge here back in 2011 and in it I showed how to ERASE parts of photo to 'blend' it into my page!!!!! Layer masking didn't make sense to me back then but now that is all I use! I still love blending, and I think that is one technique that I really love to do. I find I also love 'escaping' into the fantasy type layouts I create as well, a great way to shut the world news out!! lol!

I started digital scrapbooking in 2008 after doing paper scrapbooking since 2006. Also a greeting card maker using rubber stamps back in those days so my style still is mostly pages that look like real paper pages. I so dabble in some more arty styles and do enjoy using masks which of course you cannot do on real paper pages. I do really really enjoy putting together fantasy pages.
I enjoy doing some art journal type pages using lots of bits of paint splatters and squiggled lines etc.
I started dabbling in designing digital kits in 2009 and I made it to the last round of a Designer competition once. Also for just a short time I was a designer in a store but when the store closed I did not look for anywhere else to sell my designs. I found design work took away too much of my own creating of my memory pages.

It was around 2010 that I got into digital scrapping but I had been a traditional paper scrapper/cardmaker for quite a few years before that. My early digi page designs were very minimalist, elements were small or resized even smaller. I had no idea how to use a mask, blend modes or any kind of mixed media products. I'm embarrassed when I look back on my lack of shadowing and depth LOL. I had no idea how to cluster and that is something I do a lot of now.

It's so easy to collect the supplies, isn't it! It's a good thing we can keep them all on the simple device and don't need a whole room to store our items!

I "dabbled" for a couple of years, but didn't really start until sometime in 2012. I became addicted to Becky Higgins Project Life. The first app was for iPhone/iPad and I had an Android phone. I switched to iPhone so I could use it. It was great fun and I did many, many pages and made lots of books for myself and family members. They were "templates" so I loved template scrapping right off the bat.

My style has changed dramatically since those days. A lot of my pages are AJ looking now. I got introduced to that style on YouTube - Anna Aspnes @annaaspnes was my first (and still is) inspiration. I was so excited one day when I asked a question on YouTube and she answered me!
