Woodpeckers (all of them) are my spirit bird. I was devastated to learn recently that the ivory-billed woodpecker is now extinct. Gorgeous photo, gorgeous layout.

One of the first things I did when we acquired our new/old (1876) farmhouse last summer was to establish some pollinator pathway beds. Well, the monarchs came!
