Spring really asserted itself this week but it had its ups and downs.

Leaving soon for the monthly genealogy group at the senior center. Always a good time but two of my regulars can't make it this month. Hope to pick up some new puzzles while there too.
Chris, what a nice story about Scott! Sure hope that scholarship comes through but even getting encouraged...
I meant to post yesterday when I was here relatively early, but somehow it didn't happen. Unlike some of you I am enjoying the cool weather and blankets at night. Now I'm dreading the forecast of days to come with highs of 90 F. Last night I made a pork roast and corn on the cob. It was so good...
I've been doing more genealogy. I know eyes will roll when I get into details, but it's been exciting. DH's maternal grandmother was a daughter of the oldest of four sisters, a family that came to the US from Slovakia in the 1870s. Through DNA matches I've been in touch with a genealogist whose...
Today I sent out an update to the family history book I did at Christmas time. It focused on DH's paternal grandmother and her relatives in Germany. I knew there must be more siblings than we had data on and now I've learned of two older brothers and a younger half-sister. The information came...
Nothing special happening here but lots of normal stuff to do. I haven't been inspired to scrap again after a brief flurry. Hopefully I'll be chattier soon. Wishing you all a great day.
Somehow never got here until now since June began. Friday two boxes of family history stuff and photos arrived from Texas. We did a brief viewing of it all and found one really helpful piece of paper on cousin's family. Yesterday I was at the historical society for genealogy meeting and class...
Yesterday fringe effects of Alberto brought clouds and wind and a little less heat which was nice. Last night we even had those cool breezes. I said I'd scrap the wonderful owl puzzle that we did and here it is...

Hot again today. Yesterday the official high was a new record 93. Yuck. Am so looking forward to Saturday when the high will only be in the 70s. There will also be lots of chance for rain all week. I was also cheering for the Knights, but didn't like the penalty not called instead of their goal...
I said I'd scrap this wonderful puzzle, so here it's doing its bit to help me relax.

Chris and Nancy, could we trade weather? It is too hot for me now or almost. Temp in the dining room is 83 and my comfort limit is about 84. Worse luck have to cook some pasta for a tuna salad so we can have a cold dinner tonight while watching hockey. The weekend was nice and SIL has left Texas...
The display of crocus in one tree lawn nearby was so beautiful.

I like showing trip routes on maps, and with so little from that day, it seems like a good idea. The green route is the day before, the blue route May 19 with blue dots for stops. Brought back memories of the car, a 1978 Olds Cutlass Cruiser (a station wagon.)

There are so few photos from this day, but great things to remember, especially the Lewis's Woodpeckers in Las Vegas, NM.

Felis, definitely a brighter page both in color and your possible outlook.
For my week 19 I had so many photos I wanted to use. Thinking about Joanne's new challenge I realized I could use one of her templates.
It was a lovely week when spring really took hold.

Felis, somehow I missed your week 19. Maybe you thought it was boring, but the page is beautiful. I still have that week to do, but here I've skipped ahead to week 20. (I'll be back with the missing week at some point). I've put this in the creative technique challenge.
Week 20 was very nice and the Pine Siskins a lovely birthday surprise. For the azalea photo (using PSP) did a high pass sharpen and then did a posterize giving this brighter look as the original just didn't look right on the page.
