    Rooting for the forgotten goodies...

I love to use my older kits and do as often as I can. Yes, as a CT member I need to do the newest, but when a template is the newest, I like to go to my stash and use an older kit/collection by that designer. I do try to go through my folders and move kits into a "Mot in Store" or "Retired"...

    Photoless pages

I do a lot of heritage and genealogy scrapping, so I have lots of photoless pages. Anything before about 1850 and there ARE no photos. If you're lucky, your ancesotrs and extended families were well enough off to have portraits painted and photos of those available. If not, I use places and...

This little cat must share a common ancestor with my Sophie – she is a dead ringer for my cat! And I suspect she gets up to the same high jinks, too! For this LO, it was necessary to start with the base and determine which blocks of the template to use. The background for the stairs is paper 20...

    Starting a new layout

I'm no help at all, Ana - I use all of these methods. It just depends. I love to use templates though I seldom use them exactly as they are. Here of late, I have my photos in mind and go looking for what works, but I've been really into art journaling, too. Sigh, no help at all!

    Hello from Tampa

Welcome, Claire. The O is such a happy fun place to be. I could use a little of your FL weather just now, but at least the sleet has gone and our power is still on. Hooray. You said you're English? I have deep Lincolnshire roots and lived in England for 5 years. It's a beautiful place to...

    Daily Ooo's: Thursday, February 3

Well, I woke up to freezing rain, but the temp stayed right at 32 degrees all day so it didn't build up but a half inch or so until the sun started down. We had a break for about 2 hours right before then, but the sleet started just at dusk. If it will hurry up and convert to snow, we will be...

    Do You Scrap Your Genealogy?

@tanteva You are so lucky to see them first hand, too. The Church of England records are wonderful, too, and a huge portion of them are up at Find My Past. I have made some incredible finds and have thousands of documents. It's slow to put them all in my program, but I'm still working full...

    Do You Scrap Your Genealogy?

Life as a genealogist is indeed amazing. I wept when I finally found my 5X great grandparents in the records. John Winter left his wife with two small children and pregnant. Life was very hard for her until she remarried. I still can't find this pair in the birth records so I'm up against...

What a find. I would be happy dancing, too. I love the split page and beautiful cluster, but love the journaling most of all!

OK, I'm weird - I like the black sheep stories. They are so very interesting and shed so much light on the times. What an amazing story and wonderful page.

Wow! This is a wonderful page, Eva. I was thinking divorce was unusual in this time frame then had to catch myself. It was only unusual if the petitioner was a woman. Men could get one any time they wanted. She must have been quite the character!
