Daily Ooos: May 8-9: Weekend Edition

I am really busy these days with my digi work. I help behind the scenes here making gifts for a number of designers. It is fun because I get to make a bunch of clusters and maybe a QP or two for the new kits. All that plus my CT duties here. Coffee, I need more coffee! Big news, for me anyway, I...

Your first layout in the gallery?

I have cleared my gallery several times so it only goes back to 2018. I had been scrapping 10 years before that. So I don't think it would show the extent of my progress.

You indicated you struggle with making clusters and borders? It was well worth the struggle. This is so pretty with the different coloured peonies moving from light to dark. The varying sizes all tucked together framing the delightful photo beautifully gives it a nostalgic feel. Awesome job...

This is beyond excellent and well deserving of the GSO. The tiny clusters of flowers added to the larger ones gives the whole cluster a pronounced realistic feel. Then to accent the cluster with the decorating of the word "mom" pulls it together. Brilliant page. Thanks for sharing your page in...

Goldenrod would give you height as well as foxglove and hollyhocks. Then work down in height with black-eyed susan and maybe some of the coloured daisy types. My 2 cents as to plants. Love your border with the larger center flower and smaller ones on each side then the leaves to create...

Great idea to use photos within the border. And no, I am not tired of spring yet. but the winter pictures are lovely. Thanks for sharing your page in the challenge.

Aunt Alice looks so happy in the photo. I certainly like the way you used the blue flowers to tie in with the photo and the ribbon to move the eye toward her name. Thanks for sharing your page in the challenge.

Awesome border! Lily of the Valley is a perfect flower for May too. My mom was the same way but with veggies rather than flowers. Thanks for sharing your page in the challenge.

Oh I agree, the top corner bit is really pretty and works so well with the main border. I especially like the way the clock hands are tucked into the side border. Well done. Thanks for sharing your page in the challenge.

My grandmother, Lily, loved her flowers so I gave her a diagonal flower border.

May Challenge #3 Quote to WA .jpg

I started with the quote printed over a brush and added a frame behind to make the word art. From there I created a corner cluster and a photo mask for the image. Brushes at a lowered opacity were place over top.

Thank you to Marleen and Margjie for the inspiration for this page. I combined the face and the architectural elements of the images added some brushes and overlays to combine the two LO's. The original pages are linked in the forum thread.

I often wonder the same thing. I have see large tree growing out of rock hillsides and am humbled at their sense of survival. A thought provoking page and a lovely example of white space. Thanks for adding your creativity to the challenge. (Please add this to the Challenge 7 gallery if you wish...
