Love that photo! What a great story too. Everything just works so well. And yes, they're terns. According to my (fairly old) Australian field guide they're called Crested Terns (Sterna bergii). And no, we've never been there but did think strongly about it at one time and so the books.

Every thing goes better with sunlight! It was gorgeous in the late rays of the sun with lots blues in the sky and water and rich warm light from the sun.
Needing chili seasoning when we no longer just run off to the store was a problem until I found ingredients online - and I had what I needed! And loved it. But I could have done without having to do all this cooking!!
With certain changes along the lake we see fewer gulls and not the variety of species as we loved watching in winters past. So we were pleased recently to see one slightly less common and always handsome. Photo by DH.
