I think it varies. Sometimes I have a kit I want to work with and I start there. Sometimes I start with a photo. Sometimes I start with whatever is needed to meet challenge requirements. I am definitely inconsistent on this. lol

I can jump right up and get going if I want. My preference is to set up and look at my iPad for a bit but physically i can jump right up.

For the background, I blended my sunset photo into the pink and blue artsy background using a blend mode of Soft Light.
