This is Eliza Jane (Tarlton) Lightburne who lived in Kentucky from 1828 to 1864. I've been researching her, looking for records about her and those around her plus social history that is sometimes surprising. She is part of some of my teaching too as I work on her family. So she's on my mind!
Bobolinks are grassland birds that fill me with joy when I can see and hear them displaying. Finding one in JHD's new bundle was a sure sign it needed to be my Ace in the card design.
Among some of my genealogy friends learning to say NO is a frequent topic of discussion. We have so much we want to do, but have acquired so many other commitments along the way and tend to get new ones too. We need stepping back as well as saying no.

Blue sky in September with sky so VERY blue is my favorite idea of the month. But there's also fall migration of birds, goldenrod reminding of approaching autumn and then New England asters to make the coming change even clearer. Trees though are only showing a little color.
Here's one from 2013, maybe a first attempt. Diane @Madi sometimes did a monthly challenge for AJ but this doesn't seem to have been for one.
