We had seen the moose enough times that we were totally expecting to see them, but they weren't in the high marsh. We were thankful that the lodge saved breakfast for us until we got back at 10am. We were so tired and beat up, and it was perfect. Paz had hand made the cinnamon rolls.

The 7½ hour round trip to get our meds put a dent in our Monday plans. We had a good fifteen year times 12 trips per year track record for remembering everything we'd need. But on this trip the prescriptions got missed.
For years we'd loved the Collegiate Peaks and other mountains west of Buena Vista, for their old mining roads turned into Jeep trails. But we never loved any lodging we tried over the years. Buffalo Peaks Lodge looked good, but it was hard to wait a whole extra week for the Mt. Yale Room.
I've been missing everything but it's wonderful to see your family doing so beautifully, especially when I know some of the backstory. ;) Love the shirt, too.
I've seen them and made photos, even recently in Arizona. Just never knew their songs. Now I'll be able to know either they're in those trees or they aren't instead of only hoping they show up to get some jelly from a feeder.
