Exploding Head Syndrome

Have you ever heard about it?

I was watching a ghost show and there was this science guy there explaining people's experiences based on science. Then he mentioned "exploding head syndrome". Basically, it's a thing that happens either when you are about to fall asleep or wake up: you hear a loud sound, like an explosion, a bang, a gun shot or something. Nothing has happened, you just "hear" it inside your head. It's not part of a dream, it feels absolutely real. You really HEAR this!

I had never heard of this. However: I have experienced it many times. I've been so annoyed, getting up looking for the source, and everyone else (including the cats) has just been sleeping. I couldn't believe how they just could keep on sleeping! Also, I have been very annoyed over somone in the neighborhood that seems to be hunting nearby late at night. I mean, that's not even legal!

Now I understand! It's all in my head! LOL

Here's a link to more info:

Anyone else experienced this? Or know someone who does? The brain is such an amazing thing!

Sheesh! That sounds alarming. I don't think I have ever had that happen. I wonder if it is related to the falling sensation you get when you fall asleep sometimes?

The brain is 100% wild and wacky.
(Some people's more than others. Not pointing fingers at anyone. :pokestick: )

Never heard of it and glad to say Never experienced it!

I've not experienced that but I have often had the falling sensation that makes my body jump and wakes me up.

I felt like my head was going to explode with 51 inlaws on Thanksgiving , but never before falling asleep. That falling one I've experienced many times and it is super freaky.
