Welcome to day 7 of celebrating Oscraps! I hope you have had a great week so far.

My name is LauraD and I will be your host for today's challenge. Do you remember what life was like 19 years ago, in the year 2006? I know my world has changed so much since then. For this challenge, we are going to go back in time to 2006. Here are some inspirations to help you:
1. Create a "then and now" layout showing what life was like or what you were like then and now
2. Tell a story about something that happened on 2006
3. Scrapbook a photo taken in 2006
4. Create a layout about a news event that happened in 2006

Here is my layout I selected prompt number 1, a "then and now" layout. I used "Grapes of Memories" by et designs.

PRIZES:

RULES:
- Create a layout with one of the following inspirations:
1. Create a "then and now" layout showing what life was like or what you were like then and now
2. Tell a story about something that happened on 2006
3. Scrapbook a photo taken in 2006
4. Create a layout about a news event that happened in 2006

- Please use 100% Oscraps products. (Please note this is different from our regular monthly challenges.)
- You need to credit all the products used on your layout.
- You need to credit the source of any photo(s) as per Gallery Guidelines
- Create a post in the 2025 BIRTHDAY TRACKING THREAD to keep track of your completed layouts.
(We select our Grand Prize winners from this thread, so create a post now and remember to keep updating it throughout the month! :))
- Your page must be posted in the Oscraps 19th Birthday Party (2025) Gallery (under the Special O-vents) by PST 11.59 pm 30 June 2025.
- After uploading to the gallery please add your linked layout to this thread.

In May 2009, I had a wonderful vacation in Saxon Switzerland – I especially remember those magnificent rapeseed fields, so I now use two rules:

2006 was the year we first planned and accomplished a multi-day bike tour. It's fun to remember.

I chose to scrap a photo from our biggest family event of 2006 - our son's wedding. I almost paired it with a current photo, but decided it was a great stand-alone photo. (Yes, they are still married!)

Our biggest family event in 2006 was our son's wedding. As soon as I saw the challenge, I knew...
 
I was lucky enough to find a picture in my stash from 2006:dancingbfly:. Not a football fan, so I didn't know when the World Cup would be played, and we were told about it when we landed at the airport, I remember I had made a comment like "so good that the World Cup is being played in Germany, so there won't be people in the streets celebrating," because everyone assumed that France would win, and a few days later a lot of people were in the streets upset and protesting because they lost, and Italy won on penalties, anyway I enjoyed the time we spent in France that year.
Now that I write this I think, what kind of logic did I have in 2006 :floorlaugh:, because it was obvious that they would celebrate or protest in France, I don't think all the football fans were in Germany :coffeescreen:
