Daily Ooos: February 15-16: Weekend Edition

The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
:woohoo:
YAY! Halfway through February!!!! If I can make it until March, I think iI might actually survive the crummy winter.

*small rant*
I am tired of being cold, I am tired of the snow, I am tired of icy mud, and I am tired of being cooped up in the house.
*end rant*

In case you were wondering, it's been super cold and windy, and yes, we are getting more snow today. My poor puppies have been sliding on the icy snow pack on the front lawn. I'm not worried about Whisky, that silly dog is flexible and will bounce back up. Jaida is not very flexible and I definitely worry about her two bionic knees. It's only been a little over a year since the second replacement/repair was done.

How was your Friday? My mom found a really cute restaurant in Warwick, NY that we went to. That town is super cute and a walkable/shoppable Main Street. Unfortunately, it was frigid and windy so we ate and left. There was a yummy burger on the menu and I asked if I could swap out the burger with something else. She suggested their eggplant meatballs and OMG-- it was soooo delish! And eggplant meatballs? Who would have thought?? I am going to be searching if there is a similar recipe online.
After she left, I did a little more gluing of faery house objects. I had to show Gary the instructions. There are pages and pages of steps to cut/glue the small objects like the birdhouse and plants. And then 1 box that shows that section all completed. I'm just winging it. :rotfl:
If any of you decide that you want to order a project like this, check the reviews to see if the instructions are easy to follow.

Today is the FP in the morning and I should be home before the snow starts. I have a busy week coming up so I want to take some time catching up on the stuff I have been ignoring and get a little more organized. *fingers crossed I can*

I hope you have a fun and relaxing week ahead! Love and hugs!

Hehe, I wrote:
Jaida is not very flexible
That's an understatement, she is wholly inflexible. Stiff as a board!
:floorlaugh:

(You know Faery is losing it when she cracks herself up over something that isn't funny )

Ahem.

On to personals...

Yes, it has been MONTHS with the silly car!
The next time I see Sam, I am going to ask her how long she had her car in and out of the shop with the engine light issues. See who gets the :wehaveawinner:

The driveway was paved 20 years ago? They pulled as much as they could out and filled it in before they paved.
Glad your back is better!
I hope that your stomach cooperated and you and Mark had a nice time for valentines Day!

It will be a long weekend for us, Family Day is on Monday and it is a Holiday. Not much planned for it, just the usual running around and grocery shopping. I hope to get some paint to touch up the kitchen cupboards and I also want to paint the vanity in the on-suite bathroom to white and get some new pulls for the drawers/cupboards. Hope that my Gary will give me a hand with all of that and keep him busy and out of his recliner.
You are always busy! I hope that you got and get everything done on that long to-do list.
PS: Did you create a monster:grimreaper: by getting your Gary the recliner? heheh! You should get one for yourself ♥

BUT!! Mom got an offer -- finally -- on her condo, so it looks like I'll get the money back from the carpet which we won't have to do. Isn't that the way? As soon as we gave up, knowing that whoever buys it will want to put tile in, but we decide we have to put in new carpet just to make it look better, then an offer comes in. Well, anyway, my sister and the agent are negotiating, so here's hoping it works out and we can get that behind us.
Good luck!! I hope that the sale quicks through quickly, easily, and profitably!!!

Congrats on getting the bike trip LOs done.
Oh well, I just got a cute photo of the 7yo GD at that classic moment of missing both front teeth which deserves a page of its own with embellishments!
For sure!! Let us know when you have it in the Gallery.

Last night was bunko. There were 27 of us. Everyone brings food so we eat then play....well usually we do. Last night one of our widowed ladies stumbled on a stair we called for ambulance. Turns out she fractured her knee cap. She has to keep her leg straight and no weight at all. She is Canadian so cannot stay her over 6 month and was going back tomorrow...They are trying to a get waiver. It's a big mess.
Oh no!! I hope that your friend heals quickly and that she can stay here while she does. How can she even fly comfortably with a fractured kneecap?
How was the Dance?
I know I am so lucky to still have both of my parents. ♥ My dad fell again and I can't help but worry about them both.

We have a hot chocolate festival going on and many businesses create their own signature hot chocolate to sell and the proceeds go to charity. I am going to pop into one store later and get their Bourbon Buster Hot Chocolate. It's hot choc with homemade bourbon caramel sauce and a huge stir stick with marshmallows, caramel, milk, dark & white choc and Skor bits. Not calorie friendly at all but I don't care, I have to try it!
Ummmmmm..... can you send one to me, :prettyplease:???
Hold the marshmallows and double up the Skor bits. LOL!!! I've never heard of a hot chocolate festival but I sure want to go to one.
What channel/service is Territory on? We are looking for some more shows-- what else is new, but al of the good ones seem to be on Apple+ or Paramount+ .
I will pop into the local artisan store tomorrow and ask about possibly having a small vendor area for my jewelry in the late spring, before the summer tourist time starts. It's really cheap and they do all the work of selling with a 25% commission.
That would be so amazing! Good luck when you speak to the owner.
heheh -- at your new obsession with AI images. Have fun!

Wow. . . . what a busy day.
Wow is right! You had a crazy busy day. What a DVD score!
I hope the recliner and pain meds did the trick and you are back to feeling awesome.

Then on the way home we HAD to stop and get half and half for morning....no half and half for coffee on a Saturday morning when we aren't going anywhere? Yes, stopping for half and half was a m.u.s.t.,
Good to know that half and half is a life or death option with you too. :D
I am glad that Erinn is stable and I hope that whatever "it" is, is nothing serious and is easily treatable. Does her DH have any upcoming deployments? I hope not. :praying2:

We did get some through the night, but it was rain by morning, whew. This next one doesn't sound as good though.
Stay safe and warm!
We have been "lucky" up north, a lot of the snow has been worse south of us. It's usually the other way around. Stay warm and maybe we will see the sun tomorrow. :sunout:

Hugs!!

@bcgal00 We started to watch Territory but could not get into it...I hope you enjoy...maybe we need to try it more. A hot chocolate festival sounds interesting.

@MariJ Spring is on the way with rain instead of snow. I put the Florida fan on so am blowing some warm air up to you.

@Terri M good luck with condo sale

Party at the club was fun last night not too many people in attendance but it was still fun. Dancing, eating and so much laughing.

The trailer is all clean outside so today I will clean inside. It's amazing how dirty it get while just sitting in a parking lot. Tomorrow we will clean the storage outside under the floor everything out, cleaned and put back in a neater way. We are heading to St. Augustine with friends on march 2. I will need to stock up with food and a few things I've started my list.

I'm going to teach basket weaving at the club starting next week so that will be fun. I used to teach sewing but this is a little different so I hope it works out. I limited it to 10 because I do not know most peoples skill level.

One monarch emerged this morning I will wait for the wings to dry so I can release it later today...29 chrysalis left and one caterpillar still eating. Picked more tomatoes and our last two blood oranges are on the counter for our snack tonight while watching TV. Nice day here so I thing I will repot a few plants and fertilize the fig trees when Jay goes to work at the office at the club.

@faerywings thank you so much for keeping everyone in line with all your comments...with a busy as you are I am amazed that you can take the time to write notes all the time.

Have a sparkling day

Good Morning,
Another rainy day for us. I think we have had rain every day this week. But since I don't have a car to drive, that is OK. We do have a funeral to attend later today, however. The graveside part will not be fun.

My scrapping mojo has returned somewhat this week. I got the first 2 weeks of the AJ challenge done. I need to do the last 2 days of ATCs today and I think I will get my March challenge started.

Other than that, not a whole lot going on. I won't be able to do laundry today as the septic tank is already causing us problems in the basement this week with all the rain!

HAGD!

How was your Friday?
Rainy! Your snow this week has been rain for us! So you know what that means for our septic tank!
If any of you decide that you want to order a project like this, check the reviews to see if the instructions are easy to follow.
Thanks for the heads up! I will let Mark read them! I'm kind of a "wing it" gal, LOL!
eggplant meatballs
That sounds interesting! I don't eat hamburger meatballs as they give me heartburn really badly. Same for meatloaf! I think I will look for that eggplant recipe, too!
we are getting more snow today
We are getting more rain today
The next time I see Sam, I am going to ask her how long she had her car in and out of the shop with the engine light issues.
If you think of it, ask her if she knows what was finally done to resolve the problem. I'll pass it on to the mechanic! Maybe save him some headache!
The driveway was paved 20 years ago?
Well, I think that has solved the possibility of the tree rooting back and breaking through the driveway! If it were going to, I think it would have by now!
I hope that your stomach cooperated and you and Mark had a nice time for valentines Day!
Yes, the stomach cooperated and we had a great meal. I couldn't eat all of my chicken ACP, as usual, but brought it home so Mark could eat it with his leftover fajitas from his meal.
29 chrysalis left and one caterpillar still eating.
Debby, you need to do the Patience art journaling challenges for this month! Dealing with these caterpillar turned chrysalis turned monarch butterflies would certainly take the patience of Job!
Picked more tomatoes and our last two blood oranges
Fresh, vine ripened tomatoes sure sounds good! Not sure what blood oranges are, but citrus fruits really work on my IBS stomach, so I'll pass on those even though I love oranges!

I, too, am tired of the snow and ice! We have a couple inches still on the ground from Wednesday. Fortunately, my dogs don't mind it. My basketball season is officially over! I can finally focus on scrapping and getting my state fair blanket entry finished. I've been on a staycation since Wednesday and the time off has been a blessing for letting my back recuperate from last week's tournament. I go back to work Tuesday and get to sit in my new cubicle and start training in my new position. I'm pretty excited! The only remaining thing planned this weekend is church tomorrow. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

We are back into the "normal" range for temps - (52 H & 29 L) for the next few days. No snow and unfortunately no rain either!!! We really need the rain - or snow - as it has been a really dry season for our area. At least there is snow in the high mountains so we will get the water run-off in the spring.

The scrapping mojo hit this morning... looked at the 52 Inspirations in the shop and the :lightbulb: went on. I had been wrestling with which two would work together since the 1st of the month. Saw the colors in 2 different ones that would work together and found a photo that was perfect for it... Ah.... so glad to get that one done and uploaded. Now I really need to get to work on the March challenge I am hosting...

Today I will work on up-dating the DVD inventory on the computer and get it printed out. Then will get the new to me DVDs stored in the DVD bookcase in the office. I may keep out "ROME" HBO season 1 and 2. Looks like it will be a great series to watch over time. When DD#3 was down she mentioned that "The Chosen" next season will be starting soon. I got side-tracked and only watched part of season 1... I might look to see if it is still on Netflix and watch it.

I need to take a laid-back day today to recover from all my running yesterday. Watching some DVDs sounds like a perfect thing to do. Yes, it will be a PJ Day... :pleasantry: :floorlaugh:

Good morning ladies. I'm going to get a CT page done, work on some jewelry design and then take Remi out for a walk around lunchtime. Then I'll head downtown to pick up a few things at the artisan market and talk to the owner about a tool I had ordered, if she had any luck finding it. She was worried about bringing it in from the US so she might not be getting it for me. I'll pick up the hot chocolate next store to bring home. I was going to go yesterday but by the time we got out of the seniors club it was dinnertime so I decided to wait until today to go.

We decided to delay watching Territory (on Netflix) and instead we started a sci-fi series, Snowpiercer. We saw the first 3 last night. Jen had started it early in the day and I think by bedtime she had already binged the first season. She is really enjoying it too.

I'll finish up Martha Well's "All Systems Red" book this wkend and then will read the next in the series "Artificial Condition". It's an easy fast read, they are short books.

I started writing this around 9 and here it is almost 11 and I just got back on LOL. Lots of family chats and dog stuff this morning so haven't had any time to get online. Some days are like that :)

I'd better get going, now Remi needs to get out. HAGD everyone.

@MariJ Spring is on the way with rain instead of snow. I put the Florida fan on so am blowing some warm air up to you.
Oh thank you Debby! Much appreciated, but right now is snowing... And, snowing.... I hope to feel your warm air soon! @BoatLady
We have been "lucky" up north, a lot of the snow has been worse south of us. It's usually the other way around. Stay warm and maybe we will see the sun tomorrow. :sunout:

Hugs!!
Well we were pretty lucky except for that one a week ago. My friends in Randolph barely got any, my cousins at the shore got more and I got 6 inches, the opposite of "normal" as you said. Thank goodness my neighbor brought his snow blower over. Unfortunatley they're in a warm, island place right now, left this morning. What timing!
Sun? What is that? Snowing furiously now and sticking, hoping it changes to rain as predicted - without any ice. Is that too much to ask? Hugs back to you both!

Good afternoon everyone! I am just popping in to get my layout posted for the 52 Inspirations Challenge and then DH and I are going to watch the 4Nations Hockey game, Canada vs USA, it should be a good one! We have some snacks ready to go and its a chilly but rainy day so a good day to sit inside and keep warm. We got all our running around done early, came home and put the groceries away and then had a nice cup of coffee. Our snow should be gone soon, as it is just pouring out there. Ok off to post my page and then settle into the couch and sit by the fire. Have a great Saturday ladies!! :waving3:

Well @vickyday I decided to take your advise and make a Patience page of the monarchs...thanks for the encouragement, it's my first AJ page here. Yesterday I released 2 butterflies so far today there are 3 that emerged but it's humid so may take time for their wings to be ready...Patience!!!

The trailer is ready--4 new tires, bearings and brake check. I finished washing the trailer, I cleaned inside, I washed all the windows and the throw rug. Jay and I cleaned the outside cubby and threw out some stuff. It's like new again!!! We will take it back to storage area to day so we will have our driveway back. I also made a list of what needs to be packed for our little trip on March 2. I will need to be very organized as I have busy week before with volunteering at the club right before we leave.

Yesterday was a beautiful day but today is windy with rain showers later so I will try to get some scrapping done. I want to finish last years summer trip before we start this years trip. When my granddaughter called yesterday she said is was snowing in CT so all you northerners are getting it again....good scrapping weather.

I just love our new power recliner loveseat...so comfy once I sit down I don't want to get up. I got a new book from a friend yesterday so I'll start that later when it rains.

@BrightEyes glad you got your mojo back it's funny we all struggle with lack of mojo at times. hopefully it's a short time!

I jumped on the eggplant meatball trend too...I have the supplies on my grocery list. I am anxious to try thanks for the idea @faerywings did anyone make them yet? What do you all think of them?

Have a good rest of the weekend.

Sunday, Sunday!
Cold, cloudy, and more ice than snow. Does anyone want to boo the weather with me? I know @MariJ is up for that! How much did you get? We ended up with maybe 2" of snow but it's all coated with ice. And more to come on Thursday???
Gah!! :gloomy:

How was everyone's Saturday?
FP was easy. I think a bunch of people stayed home b/c of the forecast because I was #20. The town was holding a health clinic there. When the nurse asked if I needed Covid/Flu vaccines, I thanked her and said I was up to date. She said "Too bad, if you weren't you could have gone home with $50 in gift cards. Had I known that, I would have lied and gotten the vaccines and dealt with feeling really awful but $50 richer. (JK, I would not do that on many levels but it would have been nice). She asked if I wanted a BP screening and it came out very high. She took it three times and it dropped somewhat but I have to keep a close on it. I see LLMD tomorrow and they take vitals so I can compare.

In the afternoon, my friend across the street texted to see if I wanted to walk. My reply:
Ehhhhhhhhhh.
What time?

It was cold, windy, and raw but I needed to get out. So did she, so it was a win-win+time to catch up with each other.
The rest of the day was spent playing with the rats, getting bad hives, taking Allegra, and itching. I scrapped a LO for the next AJ challenge. Watched the poor birds in the snow while gluing more bits and pieces of the faery house.

Today I *have to* get my act together and get organized for the week. I swear, the more things I tidy and put away, the more things come loose in my house. It's like the act of making space tells the Universe that there is a vacuum that needs to be cluttered up again. YKWIM?

HAGD!!!

Party at the club was fun last night not too many people in attendance but it was still fun. Dancing, eating and so much laughing.
Sometimes its nicer to have a small group so you can talk to everyone without getting overwhelmed. At least that is how I am-- the extroverted introvert whose social battery runs out very quickly. And once it's done, it is *done.*
We are heading to St. Augustine with friends on march 2. I will need to stock up with food and a few things I've started my list.

I don't know whether I should be happy or sad. I'm so happy that you are enjoying wonderful weather, at the same time I am so sad that it's not like that here :p
(this reminded me to put my lamp on so TY!)
Good luck and have a great time with your basket weaving class!
@faerywings thank you so much for keeping everyone in line with all your comments...with a busy as you are I am amazed that you can take the time to write notes all the time.
I love doing this every day ♥
My trick is to have one tab open on my one screen and then I can C&P /quote on the main monitor screen.

@vickyday I am so sorry to hear that you had a funeral to attend.
Yay for scrap mojo returning!!!
I am getting glimmers here and there of mine too :D
If you think of it, ask her if she knows what was finally done to resolve the problem. I'll pass it on to the mechanic! Maybe save him some headache!
I will, she and Scott are coming on Wed for dinner. I also have to ask her if she sees another of the camera bird feeders at the place where I got mine. My friend saw it and loved it. She asked if I ever went back to grab her one and I said no way am I setting foot back in that store :hahano:
Anyway, I'll have to make a list of things to ask Sam and I'll add your car to it.
My basketball season is officially over! I can finally focus on scrapping and getting my state fair blanket entry finished. That is great news all around! I'm so happy to hear that your back is feeling better and yay for the new job/cubicle!
Did your DH get his promotion too? (If I asked you already, I apologize I can't remember!)

I need to take a laid-back day today to recover from all my running yesterday. Watching some DVDs sounds like a perfect thing to do. Yes, it will be a PJ Day... :pleasantry: :floorlaugh:
You sure do need a PJ Day! Did you actually take the entire day to relax?

What is The Chosen One about?
We started Yellowjackets last night on Netflix but only Season one is available. Seasons 2-3 are on Paramount+. I get so irritated by how many different streaming services there are. Who can afford it? :rollingpin1:

@bcgal00 I hope that you were able to get all of your errands done yesterday and that the tool that you ordered came in. Gary had ordered some gadgets and wires and buttons from China and a couple of the packages got here but who knows what will happen to the rest :(
I heard a lot of good things about Snowpiercer and want to watch it but that one is only on AMC+. (see previous rant for further details LOL)

Well we were pretty lucky except for that one a week ago. My friends in Randolph barely got any, my cousins at the shore got more and I got 6 inches, the opposite of "normal" as you said. This winter has been soooo strange. The temps are supposed to warm up today so I hope that the snow melts for us both. Right now it is just nasty. :/

I hope you weren't booing the US along with everybody at the game. :giggle4: Can't say I blame you if you were!
I hope that the game was good (although I heard the beginning was nothing but fights so I hope the game was relatively clean after that.)
Have a wonderful Sunday!

Well @vickyday I decided to take your advise and make a Patience page of the monarchs...thanks for the encouragement, it's my first AJ page here. Yesterday I released 2 butterflies so far today there are 3 that emerged but it's humid so may take time for their wings to be ready...Patience!!!
Oh yay!!!!!!!! I am going to look for the LO in the gallery next. Glad that you are joining is it the AJ challenges. They are fun and addicting. I will be prepping my week today and it will get posted next weekend.

I jumped on the eggplant meatball trend too...I have the supplies on my grocery list. I am anxious to try thanks for the idea @faerywings did anyone make them yet? What do you all think of them?
Did you find a recipe???? I didn't get a chance to look for one yet so if you did, can you share, please?

Time to get rolling, TTYS!!

I did an Oopps... DD#3 was talking about "The Chosen" series - about Christ's life and his disciples. It is not on Netflix but "The Chosen One" - a movie about a 12 year old boy with Jesus like powers is on Netflix. I got them mixed up.
I agree... so irritating when they show a season or two on a streaming service then switch the remaining seasons on a different streaming service. I only have Netflix and (for a limited time) Peacock. Peacock has a weaker signal which sometimes causes pauses and reloads and skips on my TV in the family room but is fine when I watch on my computer in the office. Have no problem with Netflix on the TV as it has a strong signal. My house has metal strips in all the rounded corners which can interfere with over the air streaming signals. Since my computer is hard-wired to the modem, the signals are strong - with no pauses, etc. But I will probably cancel the Peacock service at the end of the year as it is a PITA to have to watch it in the office.

I ended up getting the new DVDs into the DVD inventory on the computer and printed it out for my notebook. Other than that, I kicked back and read and watched some Netflix. I was too tired to start watching ROME (an HBO series)... as it has about 30+ episodes in the 2 seasons.

Today is a beautiful-sunny and and in the 60's. We have had temps in the 80's, but we have a short cool front tonight. Mardi Gras is beginning and we are so excited for next weekend. My daughter and son in law rides in parades. I am having back problems and may need surgery again on my L1 and T1. Thats about it.

Having to "pay" people to get a vaccine??? Not sure how I feel about that!

Oh yay!!!!!!!! I am going to look for the LO in the gallery next. Glad that you are joining is it the AJ challenges. They are fun and addicting. I will be prepping my week today and it will get posted next weekend.

Did you find a recipe???? I didn't get a chance to look for one yet so if you did, can you share, please?

Time to get rolling, TTYS!!

Are the pictures something that can be transferred to your computer to use in scrapping? What is the resolution of the pics? Do you know?
I'll have to make a list of things to ask Sam and I'll add your car to it.
Thanks for that! But don't freak out if it is forgotten or she doesn't know the answer! I'm just curious, mainly!

The funeral was for a neighbor Mark grew up with who was actually several years older than Mark. The woods property we own belonged to his sister that she sold to Mark when she moved out of the area.

Yes, supposed to warm up to high 40's, but it's still so cold inside. Nasty indeed, it's miserable looking outside and was raining pretty hard for awhile. Not sure why I still see snow, though. Grrrrrrrrr.... Makes me cranky. :cold: o_O:eek::heartpumpred:

EXACTLY! We started watching it, too, and couldn't finish it for the same reason! Very aggravating!

Good afternoon,
Just chillin this afternoon. The sun has finally shown itself for a little while at least. It is very windy and relatively warm....60s.
Hubby has the Daytona 500 race on but they are in a rain delay and he is sleeping on the couch, LOL!
I got my March challenge LO done. Glad to have that ready.
Supposed to have the widows' fellowship this Tuesday, but weather is moving in again! So we shall see!
We got the car back for the weekend as the mechanic ordered a part that will not be in until Tuesday.
HAGAfternoon!
