((hugs, thanks B!!) It now reads like this: "When I was younger, I only saw what was immediately apparent in this photo. Younger versions of my parents. Our humble surroundings. The plastic covering on the lamp shade. Now that I am older, I see so much more. I see the optimism of first generation immigrants. Their hopes for a prosperous future. For themselves. For their children. I see the sacrifices they made for the sake of this dream. The discipline it took to stick to this plan over the years. Their determination and strength. I see their love. I see it now. I see then." Now I'm happy with this lo.
