i layered the different masks (all favorites of mine). i like the urbanframe masks because you can get some nice effects when you add a drop shadow here and there. the main photo is clipped to all of the masks while the mini version is only clipped to the urban mask. the artsy masks worked well because they have some nice stripes so they carried the pattern of the costume well while making a space for my journaling. unfortunately, i added the shadow to my son before i should have and the result was that it didn't turn out right. i could have gone back to fix it (and maybe i will) but i just didn't have the time. lesson learned ... don't make shadows on things that will be hard to modify many layers later. i added some taped textures and layers from the artsy transfers both over and under the masked layers. all but two of the spiders come from the spooky glows. the title was a nod to the Macbeth essay I looked over last week and it seemed to fit with the theme of the page.
