Small Blessings
Journaling reads:
There is every real possibility this was the last time my great grandfather was well enough to enjoy the company of his beloved granddaughters, my mother Ann Winter and her cousin Mary Morton who is sitting in his lap. Just 7 1/2 months later, 4 days past Mary’s second birthday, colon cancer claimed his life and this joyous, energetic, robust man’s departure left a hole in their hearts and lives that no one could fill. Mary doesn’t remember him, but Momma is eight years older and remembers him well. I would have loved to be able to sit at his feet and hear stories of England and Iowa, of the voyage across the sea to a new land. Someday in Heaven...

This is a very straightforward LO: Lay down the background paper, add overlays, then the photo, top with elements and word art, then journaling. No special effects, just a little clipping on the elements.

Fantastic heritage page. How wonderful that you have this image and the story to go with it. Beautiful use of the floral elements.
