Resolutions take dedication. When I lost my husband to melanoma cancer in 2017 after 41 years of marriage, I didn’t think I would ever marry again. I had no desire to. But the Lord has a way of changing your will to agree with His will! Mark had been in our lives since the day Tim and I moved to NC from WV to begin a new pastoral ministry at Hillcrest Baptist Church in August of 2008. Mark was one of the men who helped us pack up the trailer that would carry our earthly possessions from WV to NC. He was one of the men who never said, “no” when Tim asked for help doing something for the ministry of the church. He loved his pastor! Even after Mark’s wife died in 2013 he stayed faithful to the church in attendance and ministry. He dated a couple of different people but nothing came of it. He prayed that if it was the Lord’s will for him to be single the rest of his life that He would help him to be satisfied. A year after Tim’s passing something clicked between the two of us. Before we knew it, we were committing ourselves to one another in marriage. Sometimes, when our personalities clash, it takes perseverance, endurance, willpower, focus, resilience, persistence, grit, fortitude, and unwavering conviction but I made a commitment to Mark and through self-discipline and sheer determination and dedication, until death do us part, I am resolved to be the best wife I can be to him. And it really isn’t too hard to do. He is taking very good care of me! Thank you, honey!
