This is the fifth in a series of six using a photo of a barn and various video stills of people and a field, screen-snapped from my daughter's recent music video. I used the same photomontage approach as the others, layering the photos (four field photos, one people photo, and the barn photo) on top of background papers and blending everything together with layer masks and blending modes. I also cropped and expanded the barn photo so that it appeared that the viewpoint was looking out from a second barn. Once the elements of the story were established, I added the birds, then brought in the artsy transfers to highlight certain areas as sky and ground and to give the composition a lot of texture and color. The word transfer and word art came nextI edited the words to use just what I needed, recolored and distressed to my liking, and then added a very thin stroke to the top word. I added some subtle light rays from the upper right-hand corner with a radial blur, which I then recolored. The page overlay came last, not that I needed any more texture at this point, but because I just love those overlays.
i think this one is my favorite! love the energy and movement. it's like the foreboding of good things to come...
