I ADORE old magazine covers and the history they tell. These are from the 1920s when women turned America upside down - women's suffrage, flappers, women smoking in public. Such deplorable manners for the time, but a time of high energy and unbridled joy following the brutality of WWI. (That's why Zelda Fitzgerald's head is upside down!)
After laying down the background, I simply layered several paint and gesso overlays, and the print border. Add images and frames, the extraction for the OOB and a few elements. Voila!
