Process:
I started with the photo, and used brushes from APP Autumn Soul on the mask to create a softer edge. Using a white rectangle set to darker color on the layer above, I created a 5-pixel stroke, then knocked it back with brushes on the mask layer.
I added the Autumn Soul background paper and a white paint texture over the plain white area on the paper.
I added the multimedia stitched house and turned off all layers except the stitching. I needed to decide later what to do with the other multimedia layers, because I wanted to keep the layout simple for an Amish page.
I added the tag from Autumn Soul and matted the photo of the buggy to it, then distressed the photo to show some of the gold on the tag.
I added a transfer behind the photo to balance the left and right pages.
I changed the blue layer of the home to the green used for window shades in Amish homes. They don't use curtains or lace. They don't use buttons. Women pin their dresses with straight pins. So I left the door plain but changed it to a warm tone. I moved the splatter layer to bridge with splatters in the background paper. I moved the chimney flowers to in front of the door because that's the only flowers around any Amish homes and it made the house more austere for a church meeting.
Finally, I sharpened, enlarged and deconstructed the straightline black stitching to better match the urban style stitches, and created a border around the main photo.
Journaling:
On Sunday they were holding service in a church member's home. They brought benches on a wagon. There was a stillness throughout the countryside. Remember the green shades and the very simple cemetery.
