Ella's in the midst of her first real crush.

Journaling:
She has this insane crush on a boy in her class, Zach Seitler. She talks about him every day. She wonders if he likes her. Should she ask him or not? What am I supposed to do with this information? Its too soon. She is only 9 years old. At first, I tried ignoring it hoping it would go away. Now Im trying to encourage her to stay a kid a little while longer for I know that these childhood years are fleeting. There will be so many more boys in her future and that time is not now. Of course shes not listening but at least Im talking. Zach will move to Washington State in the Spring and this crush will fizzle, only to make way for more boys and heartbreak. October 2011
