I know this is more of a male thing and may not resonate with you ladies... but this summer I finally got a chance to visit my favorite brewery - Dogfish Head. Their standard I.P.A's and lagers and stouts are great. But the thing that really sets them apart is their adventurous spirit and their willingness to take risks. Some of their brews incorporate such ingredients as saffron, beet sugars, honey, gesho root, raisins, hawthorn and juniper berries, vanilla, lemon grass, coriander, cocoa hibs, chilies and ginger just to name a few. That adventurous spirit is evident all throughout the actual brewery. There's a huge metal treehouse on the front lawn that looks like it came out of a Tim Burton movie!
