Journaling reads: I love these photos for several reasons. Theyre from a youth groups Fun Day (kind of like a mini Olympics with teams and everything). The girl who is rappelling was scared, you could tell but she kept moving step by step backward down the wall. I was fascinated by her fuchsia tennies and the risk involved in what she was doing. Its like that with creativity. Sometimes we have to step away from the computer, the easel, the instrument, the sewing machine, the kitchen wherever we are creative- and soak up some real life experiences. Then we come back and take the risk of trying to recreate the experience, of being brave enough to express ourselves, of saying, Hey, this is me, colorful soul and all., of going over the edge and into the unknown step by creative step.
