I used Sally's page called "A Perfect Alaska Day" and turned it upside down.

Antique Buck Rake
This old Buck Rake sits on a hillside, alongside a few other pieces of antique machinery that my brother-in-law has displayed nicely. A few flowers and an old gate add to the nostalgic feel. Whenever I see it, my mind wanders back to the time that I was about ten years old. My Mom was not well, so that summer I had to help Dad with the haying. After he mowed the grass, he pulled an old buck rake like this one with his old tractor. I sat on the seat and hung on for dear life. When the tines had rolled up the hay and were full, I had to use all of my weight to stomp on the foot lever that would raise the tines and release the long roll of grass hay. Around and around the field we would go. We also did the hill side behind our house and that area frieghtened me the most. So I always look at this old piece of machinery with mixed emotions. I love the design of it and the function was amazing. But the fear comes creeping back, until I remind myself that I did it and I survived, a stronger person. The memory serves me well.
