The Boreal Trail

Another page for the Adirondack section of one of my many WIP albums, from our trip last year. We visit the Adirondack Mountains annually and I'm trying to finish up 2023 before the next trip rolls around in 2024. Does anybody else feel like they have too many albums going on?

Every year we hike the Boreal Trail to Barnum Pond in Saranac Lake to visit “our loon.” We usually don't have to sit in the bird blind for more than a few minutes before it appears. This year there were two loons, which made us crazy happy. We do love our loons.

This is a simple template layout with an internet loon (photo courtesy jeremy hynes) superimposed over the pond's observation deck and a lot of botanicals from various APPS.

I've been relying heaving on the templates, and also every few days I make it a point to work on a page or a spread with my morning coffee. Gives me a sense of forward motion! ;)
Your suggestion with the coffee and a double page could help me to complete the two projects this year. Thank you very much for that.
I've already gone through the two albums today (with a cup of coffee ;) ).
The first is the photo book from my son's 7th year of life, the only thing missing is the front and back and a few corrections in the journaling, maybe some brushes or elements. Doable.
The second is the history of my family home, which we bought 6 years ago.
There's still a lot more to do. 68 pages have been filled with photos, but the back third still has "Big title goes here" written all over it. pfffffffffffffff.
That makes for a lot of morning coffee in front of the PC.
I usually stick to one project in order to draw the red "design" line. Corona and other events have unfortunately caused this to break off and I have to try to get back into the flow.
Thanks again for your suggestion. That was very helpful.

So progress is being made! I like that you did a mental assessment as a first step in your son's album. When I remember to do that, I am often pleasantly surprised how little it will take to finish up a project. (This happens with knitting, too.) And then it becomes, as you say, "doable."
I had to laugh at your "Big Title Goes Here" note! If you were my neighbor, I'd bring you a thermos of coffee! Onward!

yesterday i finished the 7th photo book for my son (ok, it took a bit longer than expected (unfortunately i'm a perfectionist), but it's now in print :). after a pot of coffee i continued with a 1.5 litre bottle of cola zero .
thanks for your thermos flask with coffee offer :flower: . Just thinking about it helps me to finish the next photo book. This morning I edited the first double page of the second photo book :coffeedrinker:.
