Second spread for my Month in Review Hiking Album, part of the Simple Digital Scrapbooking Photo Book Album project, and since we'll probably get a few more hikes in, February will likely have at least one supplemental spread.
With this project I'm trying to both simplify my memory-keeping process and challenge how I see things, and so far it's been pretty satisfying. I'm going with the templates by month as they are delivered in the Album, using the shapes of the masks and Fotoblendz to help me select the photos I use. I already see that with my topic—hikes--I'm going to need to vary the scale of the photos so they're not all immersive landscapes, and to give myself more of a range of photos to choose from. Time to learn some iPhone tricks! I've already made three decisions about the motifs I'll be trying to incorporate throughout the album to give it consistency—clusters (either word or multimedia), artsy paint/stains to tie colors together, and, where possible, an extraction or blended image down the centerline (just because).
