My Aunt Maggie was the second eldest of my Dad's family and the eldest girl; she was probably quite a complex character but kept her cards close to her chest as the saying goes...
Love this page and the story. The last line got me, 'musty fur coat'. My grandma's coats always smelled like moth balls. I still have one of hers, a black cashmere swing coat. I had to have the shredded lining redone, and I still wear it, rarely.
It probably was a smell of moth balls or maybe just musty dampness as there was no central heating in those days. Good for you rescuing your Grandma's cashmere coat, that has to be a precious piece of clothing!
Thank you Jeanette, I've been surprised that I have managed to collate so many of my paternal aunts, nice to pass on to my girls in the hope that one day they will be interested in family history!
Thanks Miki, I love a touch of blue on a page and when I think of this Aunt there is no strong colour which comes to the fore so decided to keep it quite neutral!
I was hoping to see what you did with this new template! Beautiful! I love the simplicity and the use of AP Homemade with the lace and flower on both pages!
Thank you! I think these templates are going to be my choice for documenting my Dad's family for some of the pages in the family book I'm trying to do; a good way to quickly get multiple photos on a page!
The vintage coloring is perfect for your Auntie's photos. Such an interesting woman she was. Wonder if the loss of husband and its grief made her almost a hoarder?
Thank you!vI'm trying to do a bit more research on her, questions I never thought about asking about the death of her husband and how that affected her, of course I was only 3 when her husband died and had no real interest in family history until quite recently; my cousin is ten years older than me so she's filling in some of the gaps!
