Pleasant Bay in Cape Cod has been a big part of our family history, and we were there when Hurrican Bob created a breach in the little barrier island in front of our house in 2021. That one change affected everything along the bay, including one of our favorite places, Monomoy Point. There's limited access to the Point now, but we work our way over on the dune trails.
I built this layout on a solid paper over an artsy paper, wiping away a lot of the solid paper with an Artsy Brush to reveal the pattern of the artsy paper below just where I wanted it. The base photo was blended with color burn mode followed by a duplicate of the photo on overlay mode—with layer masks used to fair the photo to the background lines. I added another photo of the dune trail just to tamp down the color of the sky, which had grown really intense. Lots of brushes/transfers/overlays enhance the photo--including one to support the concept of a blustery day--and at the end I stumbled upon a warming filter in the Photo Filter Adjustment panel in Elements and added a peachy tone to the left of the page.
