I had intended on making more travel project layouts for each month but have fallen behind so I'm back making a few of recent excursions.
Text Reads: Autumn said, "Surprise," the days are sunny and warm in October this year, even setting heat records! We took a leisurely country drive on Saturday, October 1st. Another surprise was when we reached Roozengaarde where a valley farm tour was in process and the gardens were full of Dahlias and Zinnias! It was an amazing blast of color!
We decided we wanted more flower pictures (not sure why since we had hundreds already), so we toured the Washington State University Research Gardens in Mount Vernon, WA.
Construction: I started with the Autumn Template Album No. 2, pages 13 & 18, adding artstrokes and textures from pages 19 and 12 to better blend the centerline of the double page spread. I used ArtPlay Palette De Novo Solid Paper #3 for the background I then recolored it a reddish brown, overlaid with the Solid Paper #1, used blending mode Screen at 85% opacity to lighten.
I clipped my photos to the template’s fotoblendz layers. I used a duplicate photo blending mode Hard Light at 50% opacity to increase shadows contrast.
I clipped my other photos to the frame masks. I changed the color of two frames to a reddish brown.
I added brushes and transfers from ArtPlay Palette De Novo to the background for color and added Paper Textures No. 15 #2 to the upper left corner.
For the left cluster, I used MultiMedia Branches No. 19 #5 from the Collection BONUS, adding MultiMedia Branches No. 19 #4 berries. For the right clusters, I used MultiMedia Branches No. 19 #4 to make it look like the template’s bird was standing on the branch and then used ArtPlay Palette De Novo elements with MultiMedia Branches No. 19 #4 berries and the Beginning WordART Mix No 2 “Life In Color”, to which I added an orange stroke and drop shadow.
