While the topic disgusts me, I feel it's important to document.

I used inverted masking to blend the photo into the large white painted area on the artsy paper (#1), then added an additional artsy paper (#2, on multiply and screen modes), for more atmosphere. Because the photo is of low quality, I piled on layers of artsy transfersthe blurred image doesn't bother me because it's the mood, not the details, I was working with here.

Beautiful blending--the blue haze makes it seem surreal which is what I thought while watching it happen. Unfortunately it is real. May it be the END

So far, all I feel is sadness in my grieving process,I am sure my feelings will evolve.I watched this unfold in my own living room and that is enough said.Yes,these horrible times need to be documented.

Great documentation of the day. Definitely brings back the emotions. So sad and I'm still grieving. Love your design, strong contrasts and the blue. We need him gone.

Powerful! Your photo treatment is fantastic, the bodies becoming surreal silhouettes, a bit of true blue irony. The snowy accents mimic the chilling effects of this event while your brushwork gives a feel of our democracy burning down while the world watches. Magnificent and powerful!
(Funny side note, from the gallery thumbnail on my device, the title looked like it said "New Year - Typical Day". I had to laugh, ain't it the truth?!?! Only a week into 2021, daily record covid deaths and a seditious act against our government incited by those who have sworn to protect it --- pretty much the cherry on top of 2020. New Year, typical day indeed!)
