I've been slowly working on documenting the few photos I have of myself during my childhood years. There are few pleasant memories, so it's kind of cathartic to put these layouts together, though I have to be in a certain reflective mood to work on them. The grungy photo effect in this design is done with a really simple move in the programjust a couple of keystrokessoon to be shared in a tutorial on the aA blog.
precious memories.
i empathize with you, it is so very special to looking back in your own past and in your case, to do some art with it. your page is beautiful and very special.

I can relate and tell you you are making great progress. Thankfully I got 6 1/2 yrs. of EMDR. But still, when I got a stack of photos from my parents I couldn't deal with them. Stone scanned them and I dropped them onto black pages in a book with a black hardcover and endsheets. LOL. Wonder if I'll ever look at them.

Love the photo treatment, documenting your early years is a precious time which you will treasure your page is stunning with the effects you made I am so looking forward to seeing how you made this on the AA Blog soon I am always interested and appreciate any tutorials tfs.

I am always impressed when I read about over coming childhood. I love your grunge page and the dog is so pretty. I guess I never think of this area as having rock hard ground but sand. love the stitched camera! awesome

Love the grunge effect! Know what you mean. It's hard to document those times. I still gloss over everything. Looking forward to the tutorial!

The expression on your face in priceless! The photo effect is wonderful and intriguing! I look forward to your tutorial!

A friend with very similar childhood as mine once told me, "those times, though not "pretty", are what helped you become who you are today...what you want in life, and how you will treat others"....so I clung to those positive words. I look forward to your tutorial (always such good ones). Excellent page!

This almost has a surreal quality to it (been watching Tales from the Loop and it somehow reminds me of those surreal landscapes). All memories are worth documenting! Look forward to the tutorial!

Art is alway cathartic. And healing...sometimes. Your art honors the scared young girl and also your transformation. Kudos to you and your younger self.
