I duplicated the photo of the suitcase 3x and use the cut out filter on one layer, on another layer I used the poster edges and changes the mode setting to lighten and on layer 3 i changed the hue & saturation with an overlay mode. I also used a soft brush to paint the clothing of the models in the b&w photo. My textured layer has a blue colored overly.

What a neat effect on the suitcase photo. I haven't done too much with filters but now I want to try your process, ty for sharing! I love it!
