Autumn (Burn Piles)

The burn piles at MVNWR were there for many years. There were no winter days when they could safely be assigned to a prescribed burn. The area had suffered years of drought, not enough winter snow, and often higher winds than earlier decades. They weathered and turned into part of our scenery.

This was Challenge #6. It evolved afterwards into a page for my book, where I added the dried flowers to the leaf cluster and its story.

Love that you made this challenge into part of your book. The dried flower cluster on the side of the page and your journaling makes it so real.

Really great representational photo. Love the masking, the word worked into it, and the cluster holding it down on the end!

Love the hues of the photo and the dried foliage. Beautiful country!
