Layer 4: Clipped 52 Insp pp 6 to the brush
Layer 5: Brain image from Adobe Stock with 52 Insp pp 7a clipped to it.
Layer 6: Duplicated the brain 4 times in decreasing sizes to represent decreasing brain function.
Layer 7: Words in ever decreasing sizes to represent the difficulty in finding them
Step 8: Added a white stroke to the words to help them blend in with the brains.
Layer 9: Made a composite (Ctrl + Alt + Shift + E)
Step 10: Applied Multiply blend mode to make the colors more intense.
