When you live in Austin, Texas, you are required by law to be Texas Longhorn fan. Just kidding, but Austin is a college football town and you're among the minority if you're not a fan. I resisted for a long time, but when I went to opening day game a few years ago, I became hooked. (UT's sports motto is: Hook 'Em Horns.) So I had to do a sports page for the lift, plus I found this great vintage photo on the web. And tailgating before the game has been elevated to a culinary art. It's almost as much fun as the game.
My, oh my, how college footbal has changed since 1898. But here in Austin, Texas, the devotion for the University of Texas longhorns will never change. Photo shows quarterback Vince Young on his winning drive with 19 seconds left in the 2006 championship Rose Bowl game. Horns won! TX 41, USC 38.

Process notes:
Sometimes, layouts come together rather quickly, like this one. (Other times, its a painfully slow process.) I used SolidPaper No. 6 as my background. I placed the older football photo, I originally wanted it to be a small accent but when playing around I decided it looked kinda cool larger. Reduced the opacity to 17%. Added my photo and frame, clipped them together. For balance, I added the longhorn logo and block of journaling. Done in 20 minutesnow to look at one of those uncooperative designs in process.
Thanks so much for looking.
