The world's oldest medical school was established here back before medieval times - way back - BC I think. The school produced a physician's reference book, with advice on how to treat a patient and a code of conduct that respected patients and their families. The first science-based surgery was carried out here and female physicians were allowed to practice and make their own contribution as well.
