aA Project 2023 pp 2 -3

I spent entirely too long on this double layout. I didn't know what I wanted to say about Wise Words, so I decided to use 1969 pics when our family was finally complete. That's when I thought of 'maybe five kids is enough'. Then for p3 I went down the ol’ rabbit hole on Google Maps for pics of houses I didn't have. Some I didn’t know the full address, only the street name. I may start doing what Anna and a few others are doing, by getting the photos placed and come back later to finish. There are a couple of details I plan to add/change to this one later. I’m not happy with the elements, but I’m moving on for now. I added the compass after saving the file for posting.

Template pages 2 and 3 were placed on the double layout. Solid Paper 1 was placed for the foundation on both sides. Photos were clipped to the frames with Levels, Hue/Sat, and/or Black & white adjustments. Stains, foliage, papers etc. were recolored. Embellished with elements, artsy stains, word art and text boxes.

I am doing the double pages. I pick the photos for both pages and place them. I fill in the back frames. Then Add papers. First day down. I finish up the second day. Then my mind has time to marinate on the story I want to tell.

It's hard for me to read the journaling because it pixelates, but I could see enough to know you had included your usual zinger. I love your journaling because there's often a zinger--"Or rather, we fit in better." Excellent storytelling.

That's similar to what I try to do. But my 'marinating' often takes longer than I wish.

Thanks Laura. I was using a new font, but I think I'll go back to Myriad Pro, it's more legible. Also, it would help if I posted the pages as singles.

For me, designing a photo album is always a challenge too.
I think your effort was worth it, it turned out to be a fantastic double page spread.

Wow, this is a wonderful double page story - family and homes! I've had to google a couple of our addresses, and finally found one number I couldn't remember at all. It was fun going down memory lane and gathering pictures from my own and the web. i love the photo of your entire family. This is a real winner!

Yeah, that's true about the singles, but then sometimes you forfeit the flow across the spread. Sometimes I post as three separate pieces--left, right, and spread--but that can seem like overkill. No black/white answer, that's for sure!
