Inspiration – First let me say this is not a political statement. Whatever your feelings about Covid and Vaccines they are yours to have. This is merely me expressing my quiet fears in my art. For some reason, the childhood poem “Ring-a round the Rosie” came into my mind and so I looked up the words and found that it relates to the plaque. The covid of years ago. And since the latest version of covid is Omicron I looked that up too. It’s the 15th letter of the Greek Alphabet, has a value of 70, and is represented by a circle. I have used all of these on my page.
Paper – placed Artsy Paper 5 over the background layer. I wanted it because I thought it would add a layer of confusion under everything I added on top because that is how it feels.
Numbers – I put 2 and 0 on separate layers and rasterized them. Copied the 2 two more times and created 2022 falling down for the title.
Elements – I used the wings (coloring the small heart with red) and the clock. I duplicated the clock and turned it red using Ctrl>U.
Brushes – I created two brushes one using “O” (for omicron) and the other using the clock. I also used a brush under the poem to make it stand out. I put two of the small numbers brushes on the page and used the penciled circles to circle the 15 and the 70 (see above).
Think I felt a little better leaving my fears on the page.
