It is difficult to put into words how I feel
about my daughter's "other mothers". For her
birth mother, I will always wonder if she
thinks of her daughter. Does she miss her?
Does she look at litte faces and wonder if...?
How difficult it must have been to carry her
for nine months and then send her off to \
who knows what future.
For 18 months, Jade lived with her foster
Oma, who lovingly cared for her--fed, clothed,
bathed, taught--unconditionally, selflessly.
She taught my daughter to love.
I am eternally grateful to these strong,
beautiful, courageous, exceptional women.
They have given me the world.
