You were the family’s melody, both in song & piano key.
You pushed me on the swing, taught me everything
of making tacos.
In my summer stays I was impressed
and so amazed when you bought me that dress!
I remember The Races and learning the paces of how to date.
The cheerful “Chatterbox” sister’s song is now quiet,
The keys are silent... ...
So swiftly it settled in, bringing
changes none of us ever imagined.
How is it possible that we can’t even talk?
It’s been over a year since I heard your voice.
You don't speak at all.
Now you exist without a choice; walk wobbly and fall.
You are thin and so frail.
This is Parkinson’s ugly tale.
Our wishes are fading along with your life,
And I don’t know what to pray for you?.
I love you, Debbie.

Sister portraits & watercolor girl are my work, unaltered.
Photos are of past 10 years showing progression of this horrid disease. She fell this past Sunday and injured her face.
