Uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh!
Caitlyn and I were cooking dinner together last night and we both thought it felt like a Saturday. It has been pretty dang wild with all the days and dates turning into a mashed-up mess.

I am breathing a sigh of relief - I wrapped most of my presents, and today I'm finishing the baking. Then I can get the house put back to normal over the weekend. I realized that I had hit the wall of my acceptance of chaos earlier in the week. The same as when I hit the wall of social battery drain (when I am done, I am stick a fork in me done), it is the same with my tolerance of stuff strewn across my house. I can't take one more minute and the internal screaming begins.

Good-ish and bad-ish note on the weather. It is finally not frigid but 50* and rain and wind. I am relieved on so many levels that I am not working today, it would have been a disaster. Hopefully it will dry out before Monday's field trip- I have 16 kids and the same age range as last time, 4-12.

I have 2 bar cookies I am baking today, and then if I have time for a third recipe, I'll get that done. If not, it is what it is. I have to carve out time this afternoon to finish the prep for Monday, so I'l have one less thing to worry about over the weekend.

And if all of that gets covered, I might have --- *looks at my calendar* --- 15 minutes on Tuesday afternoon to get in the holiday spirit. :xmas8:
I am actually very excited about Tuesday night. Caitlyn and I are going to my friend's house for dinner and drinks. Her DD (Caitlyn's childhood BFF) is coming up from FL for the holidays and we are super excited to see her! I have to admit, it was much easier walking home from their house when they lived across the street than having to drive in the dark. Either way, we always have fun.

Hoping everyone has a fantastic day! Enjoy your Friday!

Coffee with my son would have made my day! I wish my kids lived closer!
I know, I am so blessed to have them close by and wanting to spend time with Gary and me, and with each other. Cait and Scott are going to a concert together tonight and the two couples are going to PA next week for New Year's. When will DD retire or stop working?

It will be a big trip down memory lane for her as her kids were very young while we were at the church from 1997-2008. The kids all have kids of their own now!
What a fun project for everyone!

YES!!! Why are you living my life?? LOL I too feel it should be Friday. Are you sure???? Did you quadruple check........ yep dang its Thursday.
Sorry. *hangs head in shame* :giggle4:
yes, no, sore, cold, hot, ummmm how do I feel? I feel like I got hit by a Mac truck. My family has been sick and I've dodge the germs for 10 days but no more. Yesterday was super fun and we have a system down that we've fine tuned and it ran like a machine but its a ton of work. About 1p.m. I started to feel the drag of germs though and by 7 p.m. when I sat down in my car I was done. I hurt from standing and moving all day and I felt the cold grab my throat. Today I woke up and feel achey everywhere and my throat hurts and the snot is there, half running half blocking my breathing. So annoyed.
Oh yuuuuuck!!! Feel better soon-- I'm sending you some chicken soup and tea with lemon and honey (dram of whisky in there if ya need it)
We're 7 days from 12-24 and I am not prepared. We do big celebration with my DD and her fam that night so I need to get a move on. I have 90% of the gifts (2 weeks now) and still haven't wrapped a single thing. The tree is up and it might end there. My oomph has got up and gone.
I know full well that I am not one to talk (pot/kettle yet again! LOL), but no one in your family is going to care if things aren't done. Toss all of the gifts into bags, just make sure you have the correct name tags or there might be some confusion about why DD is getting dog treats :rotfl:

Have done little to none holiday prep! Have myself convinced that I have all next week (we leave for Colorado Springs on Thurs morning). Guess Mon-Wed are gonna be really busy!!!
I hear that some people work really well under pressure (I am most definitely *not* one of them LOL!!), maybe three days is all you need. Have a fantastic trip to Colorado Springs!
Tomorrow morning I'll get a hair trim, go play cards for the afternoon, followed by a xmas party. Busy couple of days. I can relax after that as I only have one more get-together on Monday and then free until Xmas Eve party at a friends home. I'll pop out early Sunday for groceries for xmas, especially the bread b/c I like stale bread to make the dressing. Then all I have to do is pick up a few perishables on Wed morning. It's been a busy time but everything has been running smoothly.
Relax?? Where in the world is there time to relax in that?? :flyswatter:
Darrell is feeling really good. He has a zoom meeting tomorrow for instructions on breathing exercises and a checkin on how he's feeling.
That is wonderful!!! ♥

Hope that everyone else is doing great!!

DD's youngest is in 9th grade this year. DD is planning to quit after she graduates! So several years of non-stop still ahead!

Happy Friday!
Had a great day catching up with Ilene yesterday. We finished a puzzle we started before she left on her cruise.
She brought back a gift for me "for forgetting to water my plants!" LOL! I was supposed to water them on Thursday but didn't remember until Friday night and went on Saturday. She didn't get home until Monday morning.
Up at 5 today for a bathroom call. So, I just stayed up and got started on the day.
My laundry is done.
I've got the scrapbooks boxed up and ready to take to DD's for her to drop off when in WV this weekend.
2 boxes of scrapbooks from Tim and my trips and earlier days for DD to take back to Ohio when they come for Christmas in January.
Mark is leaving work at 2 today so he can get some work done in the woods since it isn't raining and is warmer today.
Still have some cleaning out and organizing I want to do here in the bedroom. That is what the rest of the day will hold.
Got my daily pages done for yesterday and today. Just need to get them posted.
Chicken is on the menu for supper.
Have a great day!

Morning All
:sleeping1:
Another day in paradise. -6°f and feeling like yuck. Snot. Hot. Cold. Cough. Repeat. Kids are all down too. I let hubs out for a night with friends last week and look what he brought home :floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh: See if I let him out again :floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

Gonna attempt to wrap gifts today. That and laundry just cause I need clean undies and socks.

Stay healthy and have a wonderful day.

Morning, all... Just finished uploading a LO that I managed to get done yesterday. The shoulder/arm are still aching so not doing much scrapping for the next few days. :sad1: I did manage to finish reading the last library book.. so will take them back this morning and pick up a few more books. Have a couple more errands to run and drop off mail at the Post Office. Then it will be time to sit in the recliner with the massager going... again... Need to do the laundry - the hamper is over-flowing... but that will have to wait a few days until the shoulder is better.
Sending get better wishes to all who needs them. HAGD

Wow everyone is so busy. Kirsten has been sick so when she called on her break today she said she was really congested so is wondering if she should cancel almost in tears so I said see how you feel later and go to bed early. She flies down tomorrow morning and the club Christmas party is tomorrow night so I sure hope she is better because she really wanted to go to see everyone. I guess we will see. she also wants to decorate our tree it is set but sitting there naked.
Today I went to Dr for yearly check-up...waited an hour..they are always behind schedule but I really had stuff to do here at home. Anyway all is well.
I got our stuff ready for Sunday caroling to the old shut in's in our community. We have light up necklaces, antlers, bells and Santa hats. so we will get dressed up. Kirsten really wants to join us. There are about 10 of us so we use a few vehicles load everyone then go house to house. The shut ins love it sometimes they cry.
We received a big box of chocolates from son and his family. Local specialty chocolates. They are so delicious made with all natural ingredients locally sourced. Really unusual choices all hand picked when they are ordered. They use milk the get from their own cows. They have to be eaten by Jan 8th!!!

@AK_Tracy I'm sorry you are not feeling good when you have so much to do. Everyone in the house is sick so that really is horrible. I hope you all feel better real soon. Brrr. -6....yikes I hope it warms up so you all can get out for some fresh air.

@vickyday How nice you got to see Ilene and catch up on her vacation stuff. How were the plants?

@faerywings You are so funny thinking it was a different day...I do that allot but it's because I am retired...so everyday is
Saturday. Its sounds like you are going to be ready for Christmas as all things seem to be coming together. You certainly made allot of cookies, how nice. Have a grand time with your old friends and daughter, its sounds like it will be a fun time to catch up and share the memories.

AWW! I hope Kirsten is better tomorrow when its time for her to come!
HA! Ilene's plants were fine. She had watered them right before she left, so they were fine.
