Daily Ooos: December 18, Thursday-that somehow-feels-like-Friday

Why does it feel like Friday? Yesterday was a "normal" Wednesday schedule so I don't get it. Usually, I get mixed up when I switch my tasks for a day. Yet- I went to bed thinking today was Friday. I must still be messed up in general, especially after my two-Sunday weekend.

Yesterday was a blur of stuff that mostly didn't get done. Scott ran out of coffee at his house and asked if he could come over for a cup. We chatted for a while until I said that I needed to put in about an hour on the Scout Badge plan. I finished the one I was working on and started another. Fun stuff! (sincerely!)
I cleaned for my friend and I've noticed it takes me a little longer every time I go. Is that another age-slap?

Got home, took a shower, started dinner.

I have a huge list of stuff on my plate today, but the main thing is wrapping presents. I have to scrounge around the attic before I can start. I'm crossing my fingers that I have enough tape and tags. I really don't want to have to go out for more. Although I have to go to the UPS store to drop off an Amazon return. I bought the wrong charger, so I have to figure out which one is the right one and return the wrong one. I guess I should check for the tape and tags before I head out. I'll be even more aggravated if I need to make multiple trips.

My mom is popping over this morning. I have a couple of gifts that were delivered here to give to her and she has some cookie tins for me.
The other big chore for today is chasing Jaida down to clean her ears. The donut she is wearing keeps her from cleaning her own ears. I remembered too late that the last time she wore the donut, she ended up with an ear infection. Considering she has a 4" incision on her leg, she can move damn fast when she sees us with a cotton ball!


How are you all doing with holiday prep? Getting close to finished? Or do you feel more like I do?

The back is finally feeling a bit better today! I hope to keep it that way! . I hope you don't tweak yours while you are cleaning! Slow and steady will get the job done, too!

Great news about your back. Mine is the same as it was. I am going slower for sure- not as sure about the steadier LOL

Working on packing up some scrapbook pages from the church in WV Tim pastored and sending them with my daughter this weekend to one of the gals who does scrapbooking in that church. F

Good luck and a safe trip to and back from MN. I know you are going to be so thrilled to have a few weeks with all 4 of you under the same roof!

Today is our last dinner before the break. That means PIZZA!!!! Word got out about pizza night and man oh man. I love that they love it and love feeding so many but man the work. We have to make 20 pizzas this time, which is fun.

Did you survive? And how are you feeling today? Seeing everyone enjoy the pizzas balances out any soreness you might feel. xo

am here but not up to doing much... Somehow I managed to hurt my right shoulder-blade and it has been hurting for the past two days.

I was thinking of being a wise-ass and saying "what is a winter coat?" but having lived in CT I do know what they are

My brother, SIL, and nephew were in FL last Wed-Sun for some baseball tournament my nephew was in.(Some Cal Ripkin Jr clinic-thing) . My brother knew he was gonna set me off when he sent a pic of them on the beach and it was 18* here. But he sent it anyway

Today they are putting in our new AC unit in, it's smaller (more $$$) and more efficient. It will have a thermostat we can monitor and change when we are traveling so that will be nice.

That's going to be so helpful.
Congrats on getting the new fridge organized too!

Coffee with my son would have made my day! I wish my kids lived closer! I'll be glad when the one who does live close no longer works!

The connection to the last church is not that strong, but there are no hard feelings, so we are still friends with everyone. I need to get that box to my DD today or early tomorrow because they are leaving around noon tomorrow!

Good Morning,
Spent all day yesterday scanning and sorting pics for my kids and grands. I still have some to do, but need to take the day off to visit with Ilene. I've got until Jan 10 to get the other scanning done. My big chore was getting the scrapbook box ready for my DD to take to our last church. One gals there does scrapbooking. It will be a big trip down memory lane for her as her kids were very young while we were at the church from 1997-2008. The kids all have kids of their own now!

That's about it. I need to get dressed and get ready to do some scanning before I head to Ilene's at 10:30.

Good Morning

Why does it feel like Friday?

YES!!! Why are you living my life?? LOL I too feel it should be Friday. Are you sure???? Did you quadruple check........ yep dang its Thursday.

Did you survive? And how are you feeling today?

yes, no, sore, cold, hot, ummmm how do I feel? I feel like I got hit by a Mac truck. My family has been sick and I've dodge the germs for 10 days but no more. Yesterday was super fun and we have a system down that we've fine tuned and it ran like a machine but its a ton of work. About 1p.m. I started to feel the drag of germs though and by 7 p.m. when I sat down in my car I was done. I hurt from standing and moving all day and I felt the cold grab my throat. Today I woke up and feel achey everywhere and my throat hurts and the snot is there, half running half blocking my breathing. So annoyed.

I need to get dressed and get ready to do some scanning before I head to Ilene's

Scanning is such a huge project. I did that several years ago. I scanned every photo I had, from my parents and that I took. It took me two months to get them all scanned. I wish I could go back and do a better job. The scanner had a line down it so all my photos have a line. I still have the photos but I dont wanna scan them again. Its a big job. Hope you get it done easily.

Today is a day to sit and do nothing. I feel icky. I'm hot n sweaty one moment and cold the next. More so than normal hot flashes. My brain feels like much. My body aches more than normal which isn't helping. Feeling doom n gloom. I had my Christmas cards bought and in my hot little hands for 90 days and just got them mailed. Why I dont know. They should have been done 12-1 but nope. Haven't baked a single cookie or treat yet. We're 7 days from 12-24 and I am not prepared. We do big celebration with my DD and her fam that night so I need to get a move on. I have 90% of the gifts (2 weeks now) and still haven't wrapped a single thing. The tree is up and it might end there. My oomph has got up and gone.

Have done little to none holiday prep! Have myself convinced that I have all next week (we leave for Colorado Springs on Thurs morning). Guess Mon-Wed are gonna be really busy!!!

Good afternoon. Got Remi out for a short walk this morning, not far tho b/c we had 3" of fresh snow which covered the ice underneath which make walking trecherous b/c you never knew when you would go thru the snow onto the ice. I slipped a few times so knew not to venture out too far. Drove over to the rec ctr to meet a friend and we went swimming for 1.5 hrs, then picked up scones to bring to an afternoon drinks and appie time with friends. Tomorrow morning I'll get a hair trim, go play cards for the afternoon, followed by a xmas party. Busy couple of days. I can relax after that as I only have one more get-together on Monday and then free until Xmas Eve party at a friends home. I'll pop out early Sunday for groceries for xmas, especially the bread b/c I like stale bread to make the dressing. Then all I have to do is pick up a few perishables on Wed morning. It's been a busy time but everything has been running smoothly. Darrell is feeling really good. He has a zoom meeting tomorrow for instructions on breathing exercises and a checkin on how he's feeling.

Hope everyone is getting things done on time and not stressing about the holiday. I know that is easy to do. I'll be back when I have more time.
