The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
:waving1 Hello and good morning, O-zies!!
We had a successful and uneventful time at the DMV yesterday.
Meme-Studio-fbiDfmtWW8.jpeg

We were in and out in around a half an hour. Gary brought his 6 points of ID and they didn't even look at it, only his license and insurance. Now I have to wait for my insurance company to adjust my premium and hope I don't faint from that.
Once we got home, I started to cook dinner, which was another all-day, many-stage meal. I don't mind that if I like it, but this recipe I didn't like at all. I ate a little of it, threw out the rest. It was roasted spaghetti squash with roasted grape tomatoes, onions, and garlic. I am not a huge fan of roasted tomatoes, and everything was mushy. I also made homemade dinner rolls and had a big salad and that was plenty.
Everyone else said the squash was good but nope, not for me.

In between cooking all day, I worked a little more around the house, studied a few of the Scout Badge requirements, and complained about the cold LOL
It wasn't a satisfying day at all.
I am off to clean for my friend this morning. God only knows what I'll do this afternoon. I have to make sure everything is ready to go for the next few days. I'll be working pretty much nonstop.
Maybe being outside, the stupid floater in my eye will be less annoying. It is very obvious when I look at the computer monitor for a long time and i have to add that to my ever-expanding list of Things That Annoy Me Today TM

Signing off and hoping you have a fantastic day!
:hug4:

Mark has a cold, so I would not let him kiss me goodnight or goodbye this morning. I already feel like I might be trying to get it, blast!!! I will have to try and not hug the widows today!
That will take up most of my day. If I feel like it when I get back around 3, I will run the church deposit to the bank. But, more than likely, it will be an errand for tomorrow!
I hope that you don't catch Mark's cold! I swear by garlic pills when I start to feel a cold coming on.
Don't push yourself running around if you aren't feeling 100%.
HA! Your SPLAT icon was not on your post yesterday! If it was, I totally missed it!
That's weird! But now you know what I meant. A very important part of your day, I'm sure LOL :D

Yesterday, I baked a loaf of bread. I tried a new recipe but I wasn't crazy about it. It was ok...and we are eating the bread...but I don't think that it will replace Grandma's bread recipe. That is my favorite. Also had dinner ready when Shaun got home from work at 6:30. We had pork chops, corn pudding and AE cottage cheese. I'm sure that there will be a scrap page on AE cottage cheese in my future. Got my Med Supp and Part D figured out so there is that.
Is your Grandma's recipe shareable or a family secret? If you can share (I mean, we are the O-Family LOL) I'll love to give it a try.
And what is AE Cottage Cheese and what makes it so special??
:lalala: I am terrified about what is coming down the pike regarding health insurance premiums. I hope that you can find something good and affordable for the family.

so looks like I will not only be getting a new mattress... will have to buy a new frame, too.
Nooooo.... That stinks! Didn't your mattress get stuck in an upright position recently? Or am I having a Mandela Effect Moment?

NOT a doctor! Just what works for me. Double up the D and take a C hourly!!!! Any extra C is released in pee and wont harm you. When I feel a cold coming on I take a D at breakfast and bedtime. I take a C at 7, 8, 9, 10, and noon and then 3.
How much D do you take? Mine is in a combo with Calcium, so I don't know how much is in there.

Since I have been researching how to best make the foraged tea for my forest bathing sessions, that also has immune-boosting properties, lots of antioxidants and Vitamin C. More Vitamin C than OJ in fact. Lauren uses it when she has a cold.
I use White Pine and Norway Spruce needles. Take the fresh, green tips-- just a handful. Wash them and chop them up to release the oils. Steep in hot water for a minimum of 20-30 minutes. Overnight, if you like.

Not a lot happening here today. Gonna work on some projects that got put off over summer and get them done before snow flies. Also need to put away all the stuff outside. Really dont want that covered in snow since its in the plow zone. Off to start my day! Have a wonderful day!
Hope you got everything prepped and ready for winter. Will you be getting snow soon?

But! Today I want to share something I am so HAPPY about. John (son) started school in August after been sitting home for 10+ years. And he loves it! Last Friday he came home and said he longed for it to be Monday, and he could go to school again. It's like he's fallen in love with school. He's staying after school with friends. He's planning to go to the Halloween party at school. It's like I have a completely new son.

My heart sings with joy.
My heart is singing with you!!!!
It took Scott a loooooon time to figure out what direction he wanted his life to go in. Once he did it changed his entire perspective. I can't tell you how happy I am for you all! ♥
While I was waiting for him to arrive... I downloaded - 52 Inspirations 2025 No 41 - Mixed Media papers NO 41 October Mood by A Whimsical Adventure. Love those papers.
i am going to check them out!
OK not sure when I will be back tomorrow morning I need to be at the surgery center at 6 so I am first patient...I went to get my pain meds that I will probably not take.
Lots of love to you and all fingers and toes crossed for an easy recovery. :hug3:

Good morning ladies! Yesterday was a good day. Had lunch with a friend. We had scheduled it to talk about retirement but the focus changed a bit when my SIL died. My friend's husband died 18 months ago unexpectedly. He was early 50's vacationing in Scotland with his son and brother. They were doing family research and their car was hit by a truck. He was the only one killed. She shared a lot about the grief she has experienced over the last 18 months and how her faith, family and friends got her through it. She brought me a jar of zinnias from her garden and they are so pretty. I want to put zinnias out next summer so I'm going to try harvesting some seeds.

We talked to the health insurance guy and will talk to him again this morning. Costs are atrocious! And that's without much in the way of benefits.

Need to talk to one of my nieces about an outing with her boys to the zoo. They have a dinosaur exhibit at the zoo through the end of October and the boys love dinosaurs. So I would like to get them in there before October is over...and that is coming before we know it.

Ok...I will be back shortly to do some personals. But not before I do, please take note of the name plate under my photo. I am Officially a Cheery-O!!! I really like the sound of that!

@BrightEyes I am so sorry to hear about the troubles with your bed. Dad had an adjustable bed when he lived with us. We moved it to Florida but when we came back to Iowa we just didn't have any room for it. I hope that you can find a mattress you like. And the wedge sounds like a perfect solution.

@faerywings Grandma Louise added a little bit of vinegar to her bread. I will add the recipe later today. Because the O is my family so the perfect place to share family recipes. And I think that a layout would be the perfect way to explain A&E cottage cheese. Glad that the DMV went well. Iowa is kind of a pain because you need to schedule an appointment...for crying out loud...it is Warren County Iowa and not really the big time! But once you go to your appointment it runs so smooth and they are very nice. Now the DMV in Florida...that was a different story altogether. So glad to be finished with that!

@vickyday I have a cold and now Brian is accusing me of giving it to him. :rolleyes1: I don't think he even has a cold but we will see.

@tanteva I had been wondering about John. So seeing that post yesterday about school...well that was so exciting! This parenting young adults can be a challenge for sure. Worrying about their future is more difficult than worrying about your own.

@AK_Tracy what part of Alaska do you live in? I suppose that all of AK needs to be prepping now right?

@BoatLady I have been thinking about you this morning. Because I am now in Central time zone instead of Eastern, and you are scheduled for early surgery, I figured that you were well on your way when I woke up. I'm hoping that you have an easy recovery.

Good Morning Lovelies!

am not a huge fan of roasted tomatoes, and everything was mushy.
That's so disappointing. There is nothing worse then spending all day making a meal and having it a mushy texture in the end. I'm sorry it was not a great meal after all the prep.
How much D do you take? Mine is in a combo with Calcium, so I don't know how much is in there.
I take a vitamin D that is 5000 and I take one in the morning and one at bedtime. A doc once said that most people are d deficient. And after some research we found that D only lasts 12 hours so it needs to be taken more often. For me it helps and I know when I miss a dose. Not dramatic or anything but I can feel its off.
Hope you got everything prepped and ready for winter. Will you be getting snow soon?
Yep, we are ready for whenever it happens. This fall has been on the warmer side from normal so it will probably be November when it snows but who knows. I expect it anytime after the 20th. The one year we got three feet over night was mid Oct. Its just a wait and see. Some towns have had it snow already but it is the snow melt sun repeat time of year. We're creeping toward when it sticks but being so warm still, its a wait and see game.
I am Officially a Cheery-O!!! I really like the sound of that!
Congratulations!!
@AK_Tracy what part of Alaska do you live in? I suppose that all of AK needs to be prepping now right?
I dont say where I am specific :heartpumppink: And yes, for the last two weeks all of AK has been prepping for snow. The termination dust landed and that means it wont be long. Termination dust is the first snows that stick on the mountain tops. Its the sign that summer is terminated and winter is less than 6 weeks away. That happened in September so were down to approx 2 weeks before winter hits.

Not much happening around here today. I dont know if scrap mojo left or if my book is just too good. I just dont feel the scrap desire right now. Plus its Wednesday. Guess I should start my day. Where did the coffee go? Its like one minute the cup is full and the next its empty???!!! Who drank my coffee??? :floorlaugh: Oh yeah, me, two cups. It just goes so fast.
Have a wonderful day!!!

Morning, all. Had a terrible night.... it all started around noon yesterday when I felt some itching on both left arm and right hand. Thought it might be bug bites but within hours, I realized it was Covid Rash breaking out again!!! I had the 1st outbreak during the 2 weeks before I was diagnosed with full blown Covid last month. The red raised blisters are the Covid Rash.

Just got a call from nurse.... I need to go to urgent care this morning and have them check it out. Be back later.

Good morning ladies. Life is fun but busy (as always). Photography is now slowing down for the winter as fall migration is finished. This winter the goal is snowy owls and a few snow/ice landscape shots so the camera will go in for cleaning sometime after we get back from our trip, before the owls return here.

I'm still busy with card games at the center and a monthly game or two at home with friends, that goes all year long. But the jewelry design will slow down after Xmas as I'll have a 3 month break, looking forward to the slower pace at that point.

As if I am not already busy enough LOL I have started swimming at the rec ctr with friends a few times a week. I am enjoying the exercise while we chat, better than sitting drinking coffee as we usually do (coffee comes afterwards).

We leave in just under 2 wks for our polar bear expedition so we're getting excited. I am starting to pull out winter gear to decide what to bring.

So, I'm not around much but think of you all and pop in when I can. I see that Linda is back...yay!

@BrightEyes That covid rash looks nasty. Hope it heals quickly.

Gotta go, taking the car in to change over to winter tires and then off to a doctors appt. HAGD ladies.

Oh no! I haven't heard about the Covid rush. Seriously, like regular Covid is not nasty enough! I'm so sorry. I hope you will get it quickly under control.

Well, I am finally back home. Took over an hour to see the PA at Urgent Care... even with an appointment. The PA gave me a steroid Rx.. I am allergic to Prednisone steroid (break out from head to toe!! ) so she found another one I have taken in the past. That should help calm the rash and said to switch to Benadryl cream for the itching. When I went to pick up my meds... the pharmacy was closed for lunch... had to wait 20 minutes till it opened. So I didn't get back home and had lunch until almost 3PM.... Sure hope the meds work so I can sleep okay tonight.

Good afternoon, All :)
:newhere:I haven't posted in Daily Oooos yet, but today was really successful for me, so I thought I would share :)
Since I am furloughed :tongue3:, I'm trying to be more active in the cat rescue where I volunteer. We were informed that there is a mother with three kittens nearby at the industrial park. I went trapping today. Pretty quickly, two kittens got into one trap, and later on, the third one was caught in the second trap. We weren't sure if the kittens were still young enough to be socialized with humans, but it turns out they are. They will spend the night in my house and go to the foster home tomorrow. Pictures are attached :)
Then, after a very long wait, their mother also went into the trap! This little lady will be spayed, vaccinated, and then returned to the industrial park, where someone feeds her.
It doesn't happen often that trapping goes precisely as planned, but today it did :) :dancingbfly:dance3

Kay, so sorry you are going through this again. Thank you for posting the picture. I never heard of COVID rash before. Hope the meds are helpful and that you can get rid of all the COVID bugs for good. Take care.

Wow! I've not heard about a covid rash! I hope the meds get rid of it!
